Looking backward from   2010-05-08.

Moved into this two-bedroom condominium at the end of May, 1990.

The Location

Rather small, I thoroughly enjoyed living there; it was large enough for my needs.  This was my favorite rental place of all, even though living there meant that I could no longer walk to work; finding rides though was generally pretty easy however, as this place was situated very close to state route 725; a road that many employees traveled to and from work.

A nearby wooded park with lots of trails provided an island of wilderness in the surrounding  up-and-coming business district. I was sure I’d spend many am evening strolling around there.  There was also a little grocery store that sold beer also, and throughout the summer of 1990, I often walked there to purchase six packs of Beck’s dark beer.

The First Floor

The entire first floor was painted in a pastel peach with white ceilings.  Slate-colored shag carpet covered the living room and dining room floors as well as the steps to the second floor as well as the landings.

The Kitchen

A single west-facing window illuminated the galley-style kitchen (long and narrow), with its electric stove and lots of walnut-looking cabinets on the south wall.  The sink and refrigerator occupied the north wall

The Laundry Room

Big enough to hold my 20 pound capacity Norge washer and dryer; but no bigger.  The furnace / AC unit was in this place, but no laundry tubs.  Not a problem though, as I rarely need tubs.  In fact, the last place I lived in that had them was at the family home in Bellwood, PA some eleven years earlier.

The Second Floor

Two bedrooms; both on the second floor.

The Landing

The Master Bedroom

The master bedroom with its walls and beige carpet had a balcony with sliding glass doors and a wooden porch that faced eastward.  The door out into the little square hallway faced west.

The Second Bedroom

The Bathroom

The only bathroom in the place was located on this level; the sink and toilet mounted on the east wall, the tub on the south, and the west just had some towel racks.  All walls were painted blue.
