Camp Vacation, 1995 Ends

Wednesday, July 19th, 1995

Camp ended today, and I ache with sadness. I miss [Stacy] already.  This morning, she wrote her name on the back of my neck.  She told me to wait until I got home and then have someone read to me her message.  It was just her name inside a heart; simple but very meaningful to me.  I miss her.  I miss everyone; campers and counselors included.

I moped around the bedroom and the spare room across the hall, listing to a little boom box I found there.

Popular songs of the time I heard often as I hovered on the edge of tears:

  • Seal’s hit, Kiss from a Rose
  • TLC’s smash, Waterfalls

I’m glad I don’t have to return to Dayton until Sunday.

Camp Vacation, 1995 Begins

Saturday, July 8th, 1995

After months of thinking about this, the first day of my first time at camp as an adult is finally here.  I came to meet desirable women, and to refresh the childhood memories I have of Beacon Lodge.

The session will run from today, July 8th, 1995 through July 19th, 1995.
