Today’s Business: 1997-07-04

10:30 AM: Mom and Aunt Lois drove me to camp Beacon Lodge, where I’ll reside for the next eleven days.

11:45 AM: So far, today is hot and hazy, and it’s great to be back at camp again for my third year as an adult.

12:00 PM: As I did last year, this time I brought a boom box I’d purchased from [Melinda] back in 1995 and perhaps 20 CDs to listen to at the H cabin porches. I also brought my analog cell phone.  Reception is spotty at camp but at least with it, I can get a call out if I must.

05:30 PM: Supper held in that noisy dining room.

07:00 PM: Met [Judy] for the first time at a dance held at the K pavilion. Her great looks coupled with her apparent interest in me, captivated me.

10:00 PM: Our cabin counselor seems a bit strange.  Apparently he’s a recovering alcoholic / addict, and he just doesn’t seem quite with it.  But I’ll leave him be as long as he doesn’t bother me.

11:30 PM: Good night.
