Dear Lynn: Tid Bits

Wednesday, November 10th, 1999

Dear   [Lynn],

You’re making me blush. There are other questions we need to consider. But we can do it on the phone after while.

Wondered if I might call you at around 8:30? Star Trek Voyager comes on at 9:00 and I’d like to see it.

Her name is El… or, L for short.

Thinsulate Sweatshirts: 1999-11-10

Wednesday, November 10th, 1999

Dear   [Lynn],

No problem. You were funny, Miss Black Circle. :-)

I do have some Thinsulate sweatshirts and gloves. But have never heard of the other product names you mentioned. Ahhh well, you’ll just have to educate me. Perhaps you will send along an example of each, hmmmm? :-) :-O

Dear Lynn: Modem Data Flowing

Wednesday, November 10th, 1999

Dear   [Lynn],

Well, while you are waiting for your server to come back, are you able to see the data lights on your modem? And, do they indicate data flowing during these ‘anxious’ seconds? If you have an internal modem, you can also observe the modem activity at the bottom / right side of the Windows 95 task bar. There is a tiny icon of two little computers with a line connecting them. And when data is flowing, their screen faces flicker bright and dark green. We can discuss further tonight.

Polarfleece Socks From Lynn

Wednesday, November 10th, 1999

Dear   [Lynn],

Hey you,   :-)    :-)

Received your mail today. What a delightful surprise!!

Wearing the socks right now. They are quite a bit warmer than those athletic tube socks I usually wear. Interestingly, these are a little big. But they’ll probably shrink when washed. This was so thoughtful of you. You’re a gem. :-)

The nieces and nephews will enjoy having Miss Rumpkins read to them. I’m going to read it myself later today.

Take care, buddy. Talk to you in a little while.

Tom Hesley

P.S.: One more thing: You sure have a neat way of explaining what polarfleece is; sending a pair to illustrate. The blue that they are is nice. :-)

Dear Lynn: 1999-11-10

Good morning   [Lynn].

I feel somewhat better today. The chest is clearer and the head is less stuffy. Still a ways to go, but the body is making some definite headway.

I have a 1.5 hour meeting at 8:30 this morning. The company wants us to become familiar with various Y2K procedures, for when we’re working there on New Years Eve.

Just drank a big glass of vanilla Rice Dream. Very tasty. Supposedly healthy. However, to me, this stuff is rather addictive, just like pop. So I don’t buy it often. If I did, I’d be 25 pounds heavier in a year. :-)

The weather is supposed to be very nice here also. Thought I’d run downtown this afternoon, to buy some bus tokens, and read in the park for an hour or two. But we’ll have to see if the cold will cooperate.

Well, don’t fall into that big hole in front of Land Trust. Or, did they fill it in already?

Later.
Tom
