Dear Lynn: Mail Servers Going Down for Y2K Tests
Friday, November 12th, 1999Hey there [Lynn].
Just wanted to give you a heads up. Many of the company’s server machines are going to be brought down, starting tomorrow morning, to simulate a Y2K power outage. My email access depends on these servers. So, don’t get nervous if some of your email goes unanswered for long periods tomorrow. The power should be restored by 11:00 AM tomorrow morning. However, past experience indicates that things probably will not be operating fully and correctly until late tomorrow, or even sometime on Sunday.
