Lynn Has Eudora Pro

Wednesday, November 17th, 1999

Hey   [Lynn],

I am glad you installed Eudora Pro without problems. You’ll probably agree that it is a definite step up from the Lite version. I bought a copy for my sister also and will give it to her for Christmas. She also uses Eudora Lite, and has asked on several occasions about a spelling checker. She’ll love this, ‘eh?

On the phone talk traditions: Yes, definitely to LIVE for, not die for. Bad choice of words on my part. :-)

I’ll check tonight for email from you when I return. Let me know what time you’re going to bed so I don’t wake you up.

Later.
Tom

Dear Lynn

Wednesday, November 17th, 1999

Hi   [Lynn].

Beautiful but brisk day here. Sunny blue skies but high was only in the mid 40s. It’s supposed to warm to 60 degrees Friday. Maybe I’ll get a walk in over lunch then to enjoy the warmth.

I’m getting ready for two hours of meetings, starting at 10:00. The staff meeting runs from 10:00 to 11:00, and the UNIX Leaders’ Meeting goes from 11:00 to 12:00. They often don’t take up the full hour each. But sometimes, the 11:00 one goes way past noon. Got a cup of ginseng tea steeping, and another one ready to pour just in case.

Well if you go see the falling stars, and since I will be out until late, we probably won’t talk tonight. *shucks* I’ll miss you. They say the stars will be most visible here around midnight in the north eastern sky. However, all the light pollution here in the city will likely obscure all but the brightest meteorites. But I’ll take a peak anyhow.

I love the phone calls too. They could easily become a tradition to die for. :-)

Talk to you later on.

Scanned Pics to Zip Disks

Wednesday, November 17th, 1999

Hi   [Lynn].

On Netscape Navigator: 4.08 may indeed be the version for Navigator. However, for communicator, the current version is 4.7. Communicator has more functionality than Navigator (a news and mail reader also). But hey, if Navigator suites your needs, then by all means, keep using it.

Good deal on the photo program. I’ll just scan them in, and bring along a zip disk of the raw files, then we can edit them to suit your tastes. Never used Adobe Photo Deluxe before. So you’ll need to do most of the editing. :-)

Talk to you later on.

Tom
