Hello Kathy.
The trip home was nice. Always loved riding the train, even though they do tend to be several hours behind schedule these days – ask Mel about the long wait we had on Sunday. Our train was about 4 hours late. 
I get the stitches out this afternoon. The injury seems to be healing well, without infection.
The Maine visit begins this Saturday, December 11th. Flight leaves Philly at 10:36 AM and arrives at Portland at 11:56 AM. Then, we have about a 1.5 hour drive to the ferry. Then, I think the ferry takes about a half-hour to float from the mainland to Vinalhaven island. Lots of traveling Saturday to be sure.
Do you have any travel plans for your holiday break? Or are you going to just hang out at home, relaxing?
