Dear [Lynn],
The Hertz car has been reserved. And you get unlimited miles without additional charge. Apparently a pretty good deal. Be sure however to bring a MAJOR credit card with you and a valid drivers license. They say that the credit card cannot be an ATM or checking account card. It must be a true credit card.
I wonder if playing in the mud is a blond thing?
Could you send along your flight number (into State College), your arrival time, and airline? This would help me to find you.

Hey [Lynn],
They have Avis, Hertz, and National car rental places in State College, and the rates are $89, $49, and $85 per day, respectively. I’m assuming you’d like the cheapest one – Hertz at $49. However, is this within your price range? Do you want the car for 4 days (from Wednesday to Sunday)? Let me know, and I’ll reserve it. Oh, and by the way, the guy at Hertz said that they have lots of cars in stock, so getting one tomorrow, even if not reserved today, should not be a problem.

Dear [Lynn],
Good morning. 47 degrees here under clear, blue, sunny skies.
Installed the sink last night, only to find out that the last lock nut cannot be tightened with the rest of the sink together. I should have tightened it earlier in the assembly process. And since it is part of the drain system, the sink leaks when water is applied.
Sooooo, will need to partially disassemble it again today and do the tightening. And, had to cut some pipe to make everything fit properly. But it looks very nice. Brand new, shiny faucets and a very large bowl, and two soap compartments. Bodacious!!!
Packing hasn’t been too much of a problem for me in recent years. I’ve taken so many trips home since high school that I guess I’m a veteran traveler now. Of course I have a huge suit case these days. Two in fact. And when visiting home from Philly, I would bring both of those, plus a back pack.
Say hi to Annie and the others for me.
Well, enjoy your day. Another busy one on tap here. May need to make another shopping trip, and lots more laundry to do – spring cleaning.
Talk to you later.

Dear [Lynn],
Happy Easter to you too. The morning talk yesterday made it feel like a holiday. Change of routine I guess.
I did not receive an Easter basket, but did manage to enjoy some chocolate cake and a few other assorted sweets over the weekend. The weight loss progress definitely stopped over the weekend. Ah well, back on track today.
We’re putting up the new shower curtain today in the new bathroom, and hopefully will get the sink installed tonight.
Later.

Dear [Lynn],
On the car you want to rent: I’m thinking it would be a good idea for us to reserve the car now instead of waiting until you get here. Mom says that there aren’t very many cars available in this area, and she thought that finding one once you arrive might be tricky. What do you think?

Dear [Lynn],
I’m not going on vacation until Wednesday afternoon, just before we leave to meet you.
Feel free to give my phone number to your family. I’m in the book anyway.
And even if I were not, that would be NO problem.
Obligations. Yep. I feel that stress at work quite often. I wish I had an answer besides (just do what you have to do, even if it makes you very busy). But, alas, I have no other answers.
Later.

Dear [Lynn],
Yep, will be cleaning under the bed tonight.
I’m a couple days late on the laundry, but it’s sloshing now.
On Tabbo, and his tail across the keyboard: Do you vacuum your keyboard? I periodically take one of those horse hair brush attachments for the sweeper, and vacuum my keyboards. Keeps any foreign matter from getting down into the electronics and contacts.
Later.

Dear [Lynn],
“Conservation of effort?” Just a euphemism for LAZINESS.
You said it right the first time.
No, the email message you sent from the Land Trust looked okay. Just your email address was formatted differently than usual.
Glad you liked Eudora. There may be an upgrade available now. I need to check that sometime, when I get some time.
I have an orange and an apple warming on my desk, waiting for me to consume them sometime today. Not sure what else I’ll eat.
Later.

Dear [Lynn],
I’m very lucky. I love receiving those weekend emails.
Yes, the email thing gets quite overwhelming sometimes. But it’s nice to hear from you, as long as you don’t mind getting most of my responses to your emails on the phone.
Doing laundry this morning.
Sunny blue skies today, about 45-ish degrees right now.
Got the May 21st software installed in CERT this morning. No problems so far. But I am bracing for them. I know there will be some.
More later.

Dear [Lynn],
Yep. I’m still here, just finishing up. Slow day today. Lots of reading.
Hope you have lots of fun with the kiddies.
Nothing planned for the weekend, except, preparing for your arrival. Have to dust, do laundry, Etc. So you have a clean bed to sleep in.
Talk to you later.
