Tid Bits: 2000-10-11
Dear  [Carlene J],
Great. I was relieved to receive your email. *grin* [She still wrote back to me, even after reading my proposition.]
Things are going well here in Dayton this week. I’m training three new teammates on the existing [software] system, and working with Ann, Dan, et al, to come up with a migration plan, to modernize [our infrastructure]. That is proving to be a daunting task (and that’s putting it kindly). :-)
It’s not the people. I really enjoy working with them. But in [the current architecture], there are just SOOOOOO many little tid bits and gotchas to consider. And flushing all of them out makes attention to detail very important. It also has the effect of making for one very tired developer at the end of each day. :-)  But it’s sure good to be here to catch up with everyone.
Walked over to CD Connection last night and bought a couple discs of dance music. My sister is having a big new years party and asked me to get some current music for it. So, at least on the music front, we’re ready. I’ll probably DJ the party.
Best wishes in Atlanta for an effective learning experience, and a speedy and safe return to Dayton. You’re in the prayers. I look forward to seeing you once you’re back.

Later,
Tom
