Mom Wants to Move
Dear [Lynn],
Oh yes. That battle. Well, I may not have to worry so much about income. But believe me, I do have my share of personal struggles. A recent one was Mom’s announcement that she wants to sell this house and move up into Bellwood. While I support her, simply because it’s her house and she can do with it what she wants, I’m also saddened. Dad put lots of work into this place to make the kitchen, basement, and porches nice, and I’d hate to see his legacy sold off so soon. Plus, we all have tons of stuff in the basement here that we’d need to move out before the sale is final. A major pain. Further, Mom says that there’d be less yard work and such at the new place. But she wouldn’t have to do as much work as she does here now. She could easily get by with far less beautifying activity here. Funny how some folks view yard work (maintaining flowers, keeping ALL the grass cut, and so on) as so necessary. But it’s what she wants to do. *sigh*
