Hi Ellen.
I got the keys for my new apartment in Philly last weekend (in the far northeast), but have not moved in yet. That is scheduled for Sunday, November 19th. But even after moving, I will still maintain this office here at Mom’s, so I can enjoy extended stays here in Bellwood when the big city gets to be too much, spending two weeks here, and two or three weeks there. The company doesn’t care, as long as I keep my phone number in their database current.
Work is going very well. Just got lots of recognition and a 16% [total] raise. My new job, which I started on October 1st, involves strategic planning – looking at new technologies and helping to decide which of these [the company] will embrace and build products on. And I now have three people reporting to me for technical direction. Two of these we just hired, and I just returned from a three-week long business trip to Ohio to train them. Two of the three are working out very well. The third however, is a “bad apple.” So he may have to be written up. But hopefully, he’ll cut it.
There’s a Lotus conference in Orlando, Florida in January which I’ll be attending for four days. Should be a nice time to be there with the cold weather and all here in PA. 
Christine and Diane celebrated their 39th birthday today. That means that next month, I’ll hit 40. 30 wasn’t a difficult transition. So this will probably be the same. I hope. *grin*
