Dr. Kloss
Dear [Tad],
Regrettable about Dr. Kloss. He lived a very long and productive life, and a great man he was, though I frequently, unjustifiably feared him while in school. His name often was associated with suspensions and expulsions. But he never spoke a mean word to me and he helped define a very successful era in the history of [our school].
His tradition of excellence seems to be continuing however. The school appears to be in good hands. Although [the current director] doesn’t seem as personable as Kloss, she is very bright, and nothing bad will happen to the school on her watch.
