New Years Party Recap
Dear Ell,
Thank you, thank you!! It’s [the new year] already off to a neat start. Heading to Florida on 1/14, then to Dayton, OH in late January. I like traveling. But it complicates the task of losing weight.
You missed a great New Years party at Christine’s. In all, about 40 people (adults and kids) attended. Lots of dancing, bingo, and of course, the countdown and noise-making at midnight. I gave a few of the ladies foot massages (Wen and Bren — if you run with Christine’s crowd at all). They tell me that I’m quite good and threatened to take their shoes off the next time they see me, to get more. I didn’t mind this “threat” since to me, women’s feet and legs are among the prettiest things on this earth. And any opportunity to get close to them is always welcome. *lewd grin* And, I tried my hand at mixing Martinis. They were pretty good, but quite strong too. Don’t want to have too many of those in an hour. *smile* We had the whole works – Martini glasses, olives, skewers, Etc. Me. A bartender. Scary thought, ‘eh?
The only sad part of the night was that Grant got some sort of intestinal virus that made his stomach hurt very badly – wrenching pain. Rich and Christine took him to the hospital at around 12:30 AM on New Years Day. Upon the initial examination, the doctors thought he had appendicitis. But fortunately, a subsequent CT scan showed that his appendix was healthy and that his stomach was only mildly inflamed. We were concerned though because his white blood cell count was unusually high and he had a fever of over 101. He was admitted for observation and treatment for the infection and dehydration, and was released during the late afternoon hours on Monday. He seems to be doing much better today. The pain is gone, the fever is down, and the white count is back to normal.
Well, that’s about it for now. Hope your new year brings you continued good health and happiness.
