Update to Lynn

DearĀ Ā  [Lynn],

[She just sent me an email, saying that her feet were very tired.]

Your feet? I remember how much I enjoyed massaging your feet. Makes me want to come right up there and visit you. :) No kidding.

I may just call you instead of writing you a letter to respond to your letter.

I’ve been very busy here, insulating the second floor, working on my book, preparing to have a new roof installed on the house as well as new windows, and building a little pavilion in the back yard. Sunday night and last night, I pulled 210 Ft. of #10 electrical cable through PVC conduit, to get it ready to put underground. My arms are quite sore. This weekend, I hope to dig the trench and lower the conduit-encased cable into it. Hopefully, when I replace the dirt and sod, no signs of the digging will remain. We’ll see. Any suggestions you might have on how to dig up grass so that it won’t die once you put it back into place would be welcome.

Work is going okay but my conviction that I must get away from there, and soon, is growing deeper each day. Originally, I planned to leave in December, 2003. But I don’t think I can make it that long. So, the new plan is to leave at the end of 2002. I’ll be able to do it once all the major expenses are taken care of around here, and I’ve managed to save enough money to cover future expenses for the next one to three years while I publish. Hopefully, in that time, I’ll publish a book that sells well enough to give me an income similar to what I have now. But again, we’ll just have to see what happens.

The pic of your new cat didn’t come though. Would you mind sending it again?

More later,
Tom
