A Philly Presence Again?
Dear [Lynn],
[...] I am considering re establishing a presence in Philadelphia again (for the third time). Hopefully, this time will be the charm.
I’m looking at studio apartments in center city so I can be close to lots of people in order to research my books, and to alleviate some of the isolation and boredom which has engulfed me here in Altoona. I’d spend half-time there, and half time here with Mom.
If I go ahead with that, I’d need to get at least a part time job down there, something very simple, like fast food, book selling, Etc. It all depends on how quickly the DJ business becomes viable. I had not envisioned Djing as a long-term venture, but rather as a stop-gap money maker, just until the books begin selling.
Djing is great for this as it affords me opportunities to practice public speaking. Right now, my biggest horror is that a publisher, as part of their marketing plans for my books, will ask that I travel to various cities and speak to hoards of folks about my material. **** Y I K E S ****** Hopefully, I’ll be ready to do that when the time comes.
