Things have been okay. Got flooded this month and have been working to get all that mess cleaned up. Didn’t lose too much though.
Sorry to hear that you weren’t included in their Labor Day activities, especially after all you do for them. Life just isn’t just sometimes. That would hurt.
Have you stopped going out with them fully yet?
The only thing I know is that there seems to be lots of back-stabbing in that crowd. Especially with [Rick], who stabbed me in the back at least twice this year that I know of, and probably more times that that.
Well, I’m not going to put up with it anymore. [Rick] tried to ruin a relationship I had going with a young woman in January by telling her “bad” things about me, behind my back. You’d think that if he were a true friend, that he’d be singing my praises to her not putting me down. But hey, that’s [Rick]. 
But I won’t subject myself to that any longer, from anyone. I know what he’s about now, and plan to stay clear of him in the future. Life’s just too short to spend much time tolerating folks like him. So I’m done. Who said that we should strive to get along with everybody? Sometimes, it’s better to just avoid certain people. I’ve finally learned that lesson well.
I’m glad that you and [Jack] are still buddies. I just left [him] a message. Hopefully, I’ll hear back from him today to see how he’s doing.
