Hi  [Kandi].
Nice to hear that you’re doing well.
Well, the lady from Russia turned up on an anti-scammer web site. Apparently, she’s asked for money from numerous people around the world, although she never asked me for money. But when I pressed her for a phone number so I could talk at length with her about her life and family, and look for inconsistencies in her story, she stopped writing, abruptly. Ah well. No matter.
What school are you attending? Penn State?
Are you planning on working at camp this summer?
I hear that the swimming pool revitalization project is going well at BLC. They’re about half-way finished with replacing both pools, and they say that the swimming area should be ready by the time camp opens in May.
I’m the treasurer of my high school’s alumni association of about 200 active members, and we had a board meeting last weekend in Pittsburgh. I asked the committee-heads if they’d want to help the camp with the pool, and they agreed to make a $200 donation. I was so thrilled, and just sent the check to [Mel] this morning. Perhaps you could ask around and see if anyone you know would be interested in making a donation. The project is going to cost $200,000. So any help we can get would be wonderful.
Also, I gave a speech at the Bellwood Antis Lions Club meeting last week, telling them about the camp and why it’s so important that BLC be preserved, maintained, and expanded. This group is helping with the pool fund-raising as well, and everyone I talked too seemed moved by the speech, and very willing to help do what they could to raise money and give man-hours to the camp where needed. The women cried a little when I spoke. Guess that means that the speech did what I wanted it to do – move people to action.
Now all we have to do is replace that old PA system!
I heard from counselor [Ronda] again. She’s not coming back to BLC,
but instead, got a job at a camp in Maine. She’s excited about that, and school is going well -but busy- for her too. Do you two keep in touch?
Do you have a phone number where I can reach you? I wouldn’t mind chatting on the phone sometime.
Well, take care. I have lots of paperwork to finish this afternoon from last weekend’s meeting, and I’d best get to it. Study hard, get lots of rest, and don’t eat too much.
Hopefully, you didn’t get these bad colds that have been going around this winter.

Later,
Tommy
