Monday, June 27th, 2005

Carl,

All is well. Summer’s been warm but is going nicely. Keeping busy with little house projects — installing motion lights, fixing lawn mower tires, and installing foot lights around Mom’s flower gardens.

Talked with [Ron] and [Jack] lately, and did receive my final camp confirmation papers today. Yeah!

I’ll be working a Lions Club bingo fund raiser over the 4th of July weekend. Still No DJing yet this year, but I haven’t been pushing it.

Writing is going well. About a page a day. It takes a long time to write a good book.

Can’t wait for camp either.

Take care, and see you then,
Tom

Just Heard From Lynn

Monday, June 27th, 2005

[I accidently logged into AOL Instant Messenget, and Lynn saw that I had done this. So she sent me email, ribbing me about my indecision to stay logged in. So I responded as follows:]

Dear [Lynn],

Yep, I did. My computer was shut down over the weekend while I was in Pittsburgh. When I turn it on, it automatically logs into AIM. Normally I don’t stay logged in, to keep the number of processes on the machine down. So when the AIM window comes up after a boot, down it goes immediately. :)

Quite warm here the past couple days – in the low to mid 90s. You guys still have snow up there?

Dear [Parliamentarian],

I made the changes to the document you listed, and have enclosed the modified version for your convenience.

WPSBC Alumni Bylaws Changes

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

Dear [Parliamentarian],

You might want to revise Article 4, Section 3 in the bylaws, to accurately state the term durations of the officers. It says two years, but we voted to change this to four years in 2004. Then, I’d suggest you read through the rest of the document and make sure all other statements support (and not contradict) this new term period.

Thanks much,
Tom Hesley

Dear Ronda

Friday, June 17th, 2005

Hi [Ronda].

You enjoy yourself too at the Maine camp. It looks like a great place to work and as fitness-conscious as you are, I’m sure you’ll love all the hikes and other strenuous activities they’ll have up there.

[Kandi] is working at BLC for sure this summer, and I’ve heard that [two of my other favorite counselors] will be there also. Beyond those, I don’t know about anyone else, but I bet [Mandy] will be there. She’s always there.

Well, take care, and write back when you can. My youngest sister might get a job in State College. If that happens, it will be easy to get rides over there to see you.

Talk to you soon,
Tom Hesley

Board Meeting Next Week

Friday, June 17th, 2005

[The president sent me an email, telling me that the WPSBC Alumni board meeting will be on June 25th, 2005 at 1:00 PM at the tower. I responded as follows:]

I got your message, and I’ll be there.

Overbrook Alumni Weekend: 2005-06-13

Monday, June 13th, 2005

[Lex],

Great. I’m glad to hear that the bus had a smooth ride.

No, I wasn’t invited to the alumni weekend. I’m busy these days with the Lions Club activities, to help raise money for the camp. So, it’s just as well I won’t be coming, because we have fund-raising activities planned for both days this weekend.

Well, take care, and I’ll talk to you soon.

Still Seeking Alumni Bylaws

Monday, June 13th, 2005

Dear [Parliamentarian],

Have you finished revising the by-laws? I’d still like to get a copy. Would you send one along if it’s ready?

Thanks,
Tom Hesley

Updating Lex: 2005-06-12

Sunday, June 12th, 2005

Hi [Lex].

Did you like the school bus [that you rode to the golf outing you had]? They ride kind of rough. Wouldn’t you agree? Yes, I put this [date that you rode a school bus for the first time] on my calendar. :-)

Things are going well here. I’m writing a lot these days – well past my writers block. And I like the way the articles sound. Hopefully, within the next year or so, I’ll be ready to attempt to publish. Also, I’m getting ready for camp, coming up on July 23rd. I must get a physical exam this week, in order to meet all the camp’s requirements for attendance. I don’t anticipate any problems.

Today, I’m working a Lions Club fund-raising job at a local amusement park, and must start getting ready for that. So you take care, and will talk to you again sometime.
