Dear Joel: 2005-09-04

Sunday, September 4th, 2005

Hey there [Joel].

So glad to hear from you. Labor Day is here and I’m exited that the weather is going to cool off a bit. [Emmy], [Ron], and [Ron's] girlfriend [...], and I, are visiting DelGrosso’s Park tomorrow. Looking forward to the rides, good times, and all the funnel cake we can eat. Sorry you won’t be able to join us. Oh well.

I heard you were working in the deaf-blind program at camp after session seven. Hope that went well. Have you heard from [Sarah, your girlfriend] since you left?

Yes, I’ve written much since camp, to the tune of 1000 words per day on average. As you know, I’m speaking primarily to the lovelorn, hoping to help them better cope with their loneliness, by sharing my thoughts, experiences, and philosophies. It flows well, and the trick really seems to be to write about what we’re the most knowledgeable and passionate about. I’ve definitely found my niche’.

I’ll send you a piece of the work shortly, and you can tell me what you think. Don’t spare my feelings, because white-washing the truth won’t benefit me. Plus, you’d have to waste brain power thinking about how to say things delicately. So, just be honest. I couldn’t ask for better feedback than that.

Well, we’re gong to my sister’s tonight for a pre Labor Day bonfire, and so I’d best sign off for now. Again, I’m thrilled to hear from you, and am looking forward to a long and creatively prosperous correspondence.

Take care
