Dear [Emmy],
No, in the “Sent:” field, it’s still showing “None”.
Sorry I didn’t wait until 10:00 to call, but I want to be in bed by 10:45 tonight, and that’s five minutes from now, so I’d best get going.
Talk to you tomorrow,
Tom Hesley
Dear [Carrie],
Yes, let’s talk more often. Since you’re the one with the man living with you, I’ll just wait for you to call me, because I wouldn’t want to cause you any problems by calling when he’s there.
Take care,
Tom Hesley
Dear [Carrie],
I enjoyed chatting with you. Hopefully, we won’t go so long again without talking.
Anyway, put this email address in your files. I’ll probably have it for years to come.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Later,
Tom Hesley
Dear [Emmy],
Thanks much. It’s nice having you around as well. Hope your stomach feels better today.
Later,
Tom Hesley
Hi [Emmy].
Yes, I got your message. Will talk to you more about it tonight. Your doctors seem to be investigating your pains well.
Today is going okay, although [Mom's friend] followed me outside this morning when I went to the back porch to work on our foot lights. He had been working on his computer, but when he saw me go out, he made an angry grunt, got up, and within ten seconds of my going out, he came out too. Then, he just watched me as I replaced a light bulb without saying a word. Just watched. He acted like he wanted to make sure I didn’t find something or steal something. Where does he get off acting territorial anywhere around here?
I’m definitely going to talk to Mom in early January about this whole thing, and Joann will probably be here as well to keep Mom and I calm. Hopefully, we can get him out of here soon thereafter. If not, and if he refuses to work full time, I’ll be leaving.
I’m at my wits end now where he’s concerned, and something definitive must happen. This place doesn’t feel like home anymore with him lurking around here all day.
Dear [Tad],
Hey, thanks much! You got the right day.
By the way, did you go to Parker’s Christmas party this year? If you did, then you know that I did not.
Hope you and [Morra] are doing well. What are you doing for the holidays?
Dear [Lex],
Happy holidays to you as well. I’m glad to hear that all is well with you.
Take care,
Tom Hesley
Dear [Emmy],
All is well here today.
Sorry to hear about the bus confusions. Yes, when I lived in Pittsburgh, those drivers would sometimes leave me off at the wrong stop, which could sometimes be miles away from where I was supposed to be. Welcome to the world of public transportation.
We have about two inches of snow here, and some additional accumulation is coming tonight. Just what we need to bolster holiday spirits.
I love wiring and electricity and appliances and gadgets. Needless to say that when the home computer came along in the early eighties, I was thrilled to death.
Yes, I enjoyed last weekend as well. In fact, one of the women in our writers group got off the same train that we put you on Sunday. She was in a hurry to get out of there, and I was in a hurry to get you onto the train and then get back off before it pulled away. So we didn’t chat at the terminal. She mentioned seeing the two of us up there on Tuesday night at our monthly meeting. She said that you looked, “pretty friendly.” I told her that she was right. You are that and more.
So far, I don’t know if I’ll be coming to visit or not this month. I may wait until January when it gets really boring around here.
Talk to you later.
Dear [Emmy],
Howdy. All is well this morning. I just added 3 more CDs to the computer. Three more to go, and then all the music I have for 2005 will be finished.
Tell your counselor that you need a computer to practice and keep up your [work] skills.
I think you just insulted me. You said: “There isn’t any subject that I can’t discuss with you without feeling uncomfortable.” Hmmm, do we ever discuss anything that makes you feel comfortable ?
