Ann and C

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

Dear [C],

Well, hopefully, you two will get things straightened out. I think she was hurt that none of us seem to approve of the ways she’s handled [her daughter]. Perhaps once [her daughter] grows up and moves out, it will be much easier to keep a friendship going with [Ann].

Dear [Lois],

Yes, it was nice seeing you too. Just send the letters along when you can. I’m sure there’s no real urgency to get them out quickly.

43300 Songs Now

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

Hi [Cher].

Yes, I did receive your reply. I’ve just been busy with paying all involved parties for the alumni convention, and adding music to my DJ database.

I’m doing a little DJ work these days and have 43300 songs in my computer. I’ve been building this computerized collection now for just over five years, and it sure makes finding specific music much faster — no more searching through thousands of CDs to locate a certain song. You just type in a few characters from the song’s title or artist, and within two seconds, you have it. Currently, songs can be retrieved by artist, song title, year, and genre, and thus, the system has been very popular at weddings, dances, and parties. Hopefully, I can eventually make back all the money I’ve spent on it. :-)

You know me. I’ve always loved collecting music, and having it on the computer seemed like the next logical progression from tapes.

All is well, and am keeping busy.

Ann’s Daughter

Monday, August 21st, 2006

Dear [C],

That’s probably why — your disapproval of [Ann's daughter]. I disapprove of her too. Perhaps that’s why [Ann] doesn’t call me anymore. However, she was nice to me at the convention.

C Missed the Convention

Friday, August 18th, 2006

Dear [C],

[...]

Sorry you didn’t come to the convention. It really turned out nice. Lots of people there — in fact, we had to rent 17 beds because there wasn’t room enough in the school to hold all of us. All went smoothly. No fights or arguments between either humans or dogs. The weekend was truly quite delightful. Hopefully, you’ll make the 2008 convention.

[Ann] tells me that you and she aren’t really talking these days. I admit, it was a hard pill to swallow, [Ann's daughter] getting pregnant and all. Well, no one can say that there wasn’t ample warning that that was what she’d do if given the chance. Now, it looks like [Ann] will have to support the baby as well as [her daughter]. ‘Tis quite the screwed-up situation, isn’t it.

By the way, do you have an electronic copy of this year’s newsletter? I’d like to put it on the web site.

Checking in with Lois

Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006

Dear [Lois],

Yes, I received the letter and will send out the check later this week.

And, yes, camp was lots of fun. Hot, and lots of illness going around there this time, but great fun nonetheless.

See you at the convention in nine days.
