Sony 27” Trinitron TV Died

My Sony 27” Trinitron television stopped working today. It won’t power on anymore. [Emmy], [Mentat], and I were about to sit down to a Star Trek movie when we noticed that the TV wouldn’t turn on.

It was a great set, and I’m sorry to see it go. It always had a brilliant and bright picture, and it survived six moves with me between Ohio and PA over sixteen years. I bought it in Ohio back in the summer of 1990 at Lazarus in the Dayton Mall. I believe I paid around $550 for it. Well worth every penny.

I’ve already replaced it with a new Sony Wega 32” TV, which I like just as much. I bought that one at Circult City here in Altoona. $800. Plus, they gave me free delivery and hauled away the old Sony. What a deal!
