Girlfriend, Shopping, and Error 404 Problem
Friday, March 6th, 2009My girlfriend arrived at 9:50 this morning, on the east bound train from Pittsburgh. Then, we went to Walmart for my by-weekly grocery shopping spree, and to a fine eatery afterwards for breakfast.
Then, we came home and after putting the groceries away, I sait down here at the computer to resolve a problem with the Error 404 page on these web sites. The problem: When you go to a non existent page on the site, you’re supposed to be directed to an error page that gives you instructions and links to go back to the previous page or somewhere else you may wish to visit. But instead, I was getting an error 505, which is an internal server error. This was problematic because Google would not verify my sites when they emit an error 505 page.
After a bit of investigation, I found that if I removed the .htaccess file, the problem disappeared, and the correct page displayed. Not sure what’s wrong this file. But I’ll not worry about it now. It may be something I never have to fix.
