I posted the next installment in the story of Tom’s Love Quest. See it here. It’s a letter to Emmy, telling her that I need to play a little.
I’m still weighing in at between 176 and 178 pounds. I’ve been at a plateau for the past month. But now, I’m ready to get back to the green tea, fiber, and sub-1000 calorie days. 173 pounds, here I come!
Mom and I signed our federal and state tax forms today. We received them from the tax preparer late last week. But with [Emmy] here and all, I put off doing them until today. No matter though because we had some good news: I don’t owe anything and Mom gets a little back. Less than I thought she should get. But nonetheless, a refund is always nice even when it’s smaller than expected. I may investigate this later just to make sure we claimed all the deductions we should have.
She’s gone. Mom, Kay, and I drove her to the train and I helped her on. As per usual when she leaves, I miss her already. There’s an inexplicable energy about her that animates this place when she’s here, and leaves it flat and drab when she goes away. Well, she’ll be back before too long. I can’t wait.
