Physical exam for camp completed. All is well. Click   here   for more details.

Pruned two trees in our yard (about an hour’s worth of work).

Napped from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.

Listened to the news for nearly an hour, and today’s episode of The Young and the Restless   on the DVR.

Worked on next   Tom’s Love Quest    post.

Finished uploading sent email from November, 2005 to the blogs.

Sister Christine stopped down for a half hour this evening. Then, within minutes of her departing, her husband showed up and he and I chatted in the yard for twenty minutes. He gave me tips on how to sharpen my chain saw blade, as it apparently needs it.

I baked a small turkey roast.  It was supposed to take 45 minutes at 350 degrees.  But the meat thermometer didn’t read above 160 degrees until 1 hour and 15 minutes into baking.  No problem though, because the meat was still very moist.  I also microwaved some fresh asparagus and had a few fresh strawberries for dessert.  Great dieters meal.  :-)   No, it really was quite tasty.

I just finished uploading my personal correspondance from November, 2005 to the blogs. See it at the Tom’s Diary November, 2005 Archive, and the Tom’s Love Quest November, 2005 Archive.

Now I’m off to do December, 2005.

Physical Exam Done

All is well.

Readings were as follows:

Weight: 166.0
Blood pressure: 104 / 76
Cholesterol (Total): 154
HDL: 44
LDL: 87
Triglycerides: 124
Temperature: 97.1
Blood Sugar: Good

Weight is off 17.4 pounds since the last visit, last fall.  Blood pressure is down from 124 / 90 last June.

He said that given all these good readings that I need lose no more weight. However, my BMI is still above 25. So I want to get that down to around 20 for its long term health benefits, and I’d like to put some additional head room between my current weight, and the upper maximum healthy weight. I hope to be at least thirty pounds below that maximum healthy weight.. So I’ll tentatively take more off in ten pound increments and see how things feel.

He also recommends that, as of today, I stop taking the simvastatin (for lowering cholesterol). Then in September, he’ll read the values again to see how much the medicine was working. I’m hopeful that cholesterol can be controlled with the life style changes implemented so far.
