Physical Exam Done
All is well.
Readings were as follows:
Weight: 166.0
Blood pressure: 104 / 76
Cholesterol (Total): 154
HDL: 44
LDL: 87
Triglycerides: 124
Temperature: 97.1
Blood Sugar: Good
Weight is off 17.4 pounds since the last visit, last fall. Blood pressure is down from 124 / 90 last June.
He said that given all these good readings that I need lose no more weight. However, my BMI is still above 25. So I want to get that down to around 20 for its long term health benefits, and I’d like to put some additional head room between my current weight, and the upper maximum healthy weight. I hope to be at least thirty pounds below that maximum healthy weight.. So I’ll tentatively take more off in ten pound increments and see how things feel.
He also recommends that, as of today, I stop taking the simvastatin (for lowering cholesterol). Then in September, he’ll read the values again to see how much the medicine was working. I’m hopeful that cholesterol can be controlled with the life style changes implemented so far.
