Today’s Business: 2009-09-03
Thursday, September 3rd, 2009Posted this article from Tom’s Love Quest to my current social networking forum. Only a few commented on it but their comments will help guide me in my next writing on love at first sight.
Talked with [Emmy] on the phone.
Picked up all cut branches in the yard from my pruning operation yesterday.
Today was again, very sunny and dry; a bit warmer than yesterday, with high temperatures in the upper 70s.
Attended the local Lions Club meeting tonight. We had roast beef, mashed potatos, green bean casserole, bread sticks, cucumbers, salad, and peach pie for desert. The program speaker talked about AIDS and underscored the need for further funding to help pay for drugs for AIDS patients. A very informative talk. He said the following that I did not know:
- A person, once he contracts the AIDS virus can go for up to ten years without showing any symptoms.
- One so infected can live for up to 40 years, assuming that he has access to current drugs.
- There are four types of AIDS; the first of which is the easiest to treat. Drugs for the later varieties are few and not as effective as those that have been around since AIDS was first discovered in the late 70s.
I’ll be transferring to a different club, beginning in October.
