Cooked two 16-ounce porter house steaks, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and green beans for [Emmy] and myself.  Did the steaks on her George Foreman grill to a medium-well consistency, which took around 17 minutes.

Watched   The Young and the Restless,   the news,   and   Dr. Phil.

Installed Avast 4.8 antivirus software on [Emmy's] computer for her.  All is well so far; no viruses or other malware found during the initial scan.

Confirmed an October wedding reception DJ gig.  I’ll arrange equipment transport to it in early October.

No social networking on the phone for nearly a week now.  I miss it but am pleased with my decision and resolve to get away from it.  So far, so good.

Went shopping at CVS this afternoon for pop, cereal, and gum.

Heard from the sisters that Mom has been taken to a local nursing facility so her meds can be regulated, as they do so well at such places, and her foot can be immobilized while it heals from the bone infection she has.  She’ll start physical therapy tomorrow and is expected to reside at the home for the next three to five weeks.

Mom called me tonight to say that she’s all settled in at the home.  She’s thrilled with the staff but much less so with the fact that she has a roommate who likes to play the TV loud and long.  I sympathize fully.  So to help her, I’m going to take her some earplugs when I return home.

Nice weather here in Pittsburgh today with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s.
