Added a new post to the  Tom’s Love Quest   blog.  Check it out   here.

Did a   shopping trip   this morning.

Temperatures at around 40 degrees outside this morning forced me to turn on my bedroom heat for the first time this season.  Didn’t need much though; just enough to take the chill off — to warm the room from 60 to 65 degrees.

Watched NBC’s Nightly News, The Young and the Restless, and listened to a few episodes of Dr. Joy Browne.  You know, it’s scary about this woman, for just about anything she says, I agree with.  This no doubt is in large part because she’s quite liberal, as am I.  As liberal as I am, I really should have been born left-handed.  :-)

The Penguins won tonight; [Emmy] and I listened to the last few minutes of it on Internet radio.

Tried on the eleven pairs of new blue jeans I purchased today.  All fit pretty well although some were more decidedly more tight while others, thought the same labeled sized, felt rather loose.  I like all of them though.  Brands include Faced Glory, Wrangler, and Rustler.

Updated the   Shed Roof Replacemet Project   and    Wheelchair Ramp Project   posts.

Another gray day today, no sunshine, and it rained on and off throughout although it held off until we finished our shopping trip.

Shopping Trip: 2009-10-02

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

This was a combination shopping as well as Mom transport trip.  Sister JoJo and I drove up to Altoona to take Mom from the nursing care facility to the wound care clinic.  Then, whle Mom waited there to see the doctor, we went shopping at Wal Mart.  The list of items purchased follows:

  • Cocoa Wheats (2 boxes).
  • Cheerios (1 box).
  • Blue Jeans for me (11 pair).  (Hey, most of these were under ten dollars a pair.  What can I say?)
  • Chicken breast tenders (3.75 Lbs.).
  • Organic Sugar (5 Lb., 8 Oz.).
  • Diet Pepsi (caffeine free) (20 Liters).
  • Agave nectar (2 bottles).
  • SpringTree pure maple syrup (1 bottle).
  • Blueberries (3 containers).
  • Green grapes (1 big bag).
  • Wing sauce (1 bottle).
  • Organic fat free milk (1.5 gallons).
  • Slippers for Mom (1 pair).
  • Socks for Mom (3 pair).
  • Booties for Mom (1 pair).
  • Cordless telephone  Christmas gift for [Emmy].

Total cost: $322.83.

After we finished shopping, we retrieved Mom from the wound care clinic, and went to lunch at Hoss’s.

Next, we went back to the nursing home, where we met one of Mom’s physical therapists.  He had some good insights on building a ramp.  I’ll add the details to the   Wheelchair Ramp Project   post presently.  Talked with this fellow for around twenty minutes.  Then, Mom got on with her physical therapy exercises, and JoJo and I headed home.
