03:30 AM: Woke up early and decided to work on the blogs, adding the following post(s):

05:35 AM: I think I’ll head back to bed and try for a few more hours of sleep.

09:45 AM: I’m up.  Most of the clocks around her automatically set themselves back; particularly the ones in computers and the radio-controlled ones we have from Sharper Image.  But the stove, the microwave, and this glass clock my father received from the railroad for working there so long, these must be set back.  So when next I go downstairs, I’ll take care of that.

11:30 AM: The twins stopped by for an hour or so.  I made them coffee and sister Christine did a couple loads of laundry for Mom.  They liked my makeshift ramp, thought they thought that it should be extended out another eight feet to reduce the slope.  I’ll look into that this week.

03:15 PM: Sister JoJo and her daughter just visited for an hour and did a little cleaning and helped with the laundry.

03:30 PM: I worked the   Shed Roof Replacement Project.

04:40 PM: Worked the   Christmas Lighting, 2009  Project.

05:00 PM: Put a couple loads of white laundry away for Mom.

05:30 PM: Nap time.

06:00 PM: [Emmy] called to report that a strange zapping noise came from her computer speakers this afternoon and that now, they’re humming loudly and the computer audio sounds distorted.  So I had her unplug the audio cable from the computer, but the hum persisted from the speakers.  Then, I instructed her to plug the AUX cable from her stereo into the computer’s audio output.  This worked well.  JAWS sounded good once more, and the hum was gone.  It seems that the problem is either in the speakers themselves, or in the power supply.  I asked her to bring both of these with her when she comes here for the Thanksgiving holiday. I’m hopeful that the power supply (wall wart) went bad because I have lots of those.  If it’s the speakers themselves, well, I have some but not as many of them as I do power supplies.

07:50 PM: Watched all pending episodes of   NBC Nightly News,   including tonight’s.

10:35 PM: Talked with [Emmy].  She sent me some Victor Reader Stream 3gp recordings in a zip file through email.  That worked well.

11:00 PM: I’m off to bed.  Good night.

Log

08:00 AM: Blood sugar: 194.  She covered with ten units of the fast-acting insulin.  She also ate breakfast, consisting of a few cookies and a slice of jelly bread.

01:45 PM: Blood sugar: 209.  Covered with 14 units insulin.

06:25 PM: Blood sugar: 280.  Covered with 18 units insulin.  She ate a bowl of tomato soup, six Ritz crackers, and some peanut butter since the last insulin dose.

10:30 PM: Blood sugar: 109.  No log insulin given.  However, I discovered 12 units of the NPH insulin in a syringe from this morning.  Apparently, Mom drew it up but never injected it.  This may partially explain the high blood sugar readings we’ve been getting all day.
