Today’s Business: 2009-11-14

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

07:00 AM: I’m up, and busy doing my morning chores, including:

  • Cat duty
  • Email checking
  • Showering
  • Dispensing Mom’s meds

12:00 PM:  Worked the   Wheelchair Ramp Construction Project.  Took out my makeshift ramp, version 1 so far, and set the beams and the upper 8 Ft. section of the version 2 ramp.  I’ll finish the rest tomorrow.

06:00 PM: I’m done with the ramp for the day.

06:15 PM: Nap time.  I’m aching all over from crawling around outside with that ramp.

09:30 PM: Sister Mary Ann called to check in on Mom and I.  She’s coming up this Monday or Tuesday to help us prepare for our Thanksgiving dinner.  She also mentioned   [Beetee's] possible cancer.

09:45 PM: Began system backups for the blogs.

10:15 PM: System backups   done.

11:20 PM: Worked the   household organization effort.  Just grouped some items and put them into some of those storage baskets I purchased on Friday.

11:51 PM: Journaled for a half-hour.

11:57 PM: Went through Mom’s new meds we picked up yesterday; all is well with them.

12:00 AM: Well, another full day is done and even after my nearly three hour nap earlier, I’m eager to hit the hay.  So take care and I’ll write more later.

Beetee Might Have Cancer

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

From sister Mary Ann came news tonight that her long-time family friend and high school classmate, [Beetee], might have ovarian cancer. Apparently, she’s suffered bleeding and pain for some time now.  Still though, this comes as a terrible shock to us all as most cancers do and so far, the only good thing about this is that we don’t know for sure that it is cancer.  But the doctors are preparing her for the worst.  Hopefully we’ll learn more during the next few days.

Log

08:00 AM: Blood sugar: 170.  Covered with 8 units of log insulin.  She seemed extra groggy this morning, and asked to not take her morning meds until later, when she gets up and eats breakfast.  Well, what could I say?  So I put them on the counter where she can easily find them.

12:30 PM: Blood sugar: 141.  Covered this and lunch with 10 units of log insulin.

06:00 PM: Blood sugar: 129.

06:30 PM: Covered her supper with 12 units of log insulin.

10:15 PM: Blood sugar: 115.  Pretty good day overall on the readings.
