04:15 AM: I woke up prematurely this morning; probably due to eating too late with Mom and Jojo last night.  Can’t get back to sleep at the moment.  So I’m listening to some of my recent audio journal entries.

05:25 AM: Categorizing some previously uncategorized   Tom’s Diary   blog posts.

06:40 AM: Downloaded and installed the latest free version of the Avast antivirus software suite.  Click   here   to see details of my experience with doing this.

08:30 AM: I just finished categorizing 100 posts in the   Tom’s Diary   blog. 

8:40 AM: Just prepared the bandwidth stats report for November, 2009. See it   here.  Now, I believe I’ll head back to bed for a couple hours, to finish last night’s sleep cycle.  You’ll find me back out here later on today.

11:30 AM: I’m up again; this time, for the day.  I’m categorizing more posts in this, the   Tom’s Diary   blog. 

01:30 PM: I just finished categorizing 50 more posts in the   Tom’s Diary   blog.  Wow, the sun is actually shining in the office window.  With this latest and long string of dark, dreary days, I wasn’t sure when we’d see it again.  But seeing it lifts my spirits; particularly at this time of year when the landscape outside is so dark, so much of the time.

01:45 PM: My chores today include the following:

• Showering
• Cat duty (which involves feeding and cleaning up after the cats)
• Processing all mail
• Getting caught up with the book-keeping for all our   shopping trips   lately
• Dispensing Mom’s meds

05:05 PM: Worked the   Household Organization, 2009   project.   See today’s comments   there   for details.

05:35 PM: Worked the   Christmas Lighting, 2009   project.  See today’s comments    there   for more details.  I repaired another dim LED string outside.

05:55 PM: Supper tonight: Home-made vegetable soup (from the lady next door) and a slice of pumpernickel toast with butter.  Yum!

07:40 PM: I just finished categorizing 50 more posts in the   Tom’s Diary   blog.  That makes 200 today so far.  Actually, I think I’m done with that effort until tomorrow.    In fact, I think I’ll just take a little snooze, right now.  Later.

09:30 PM: Just woke up from the nap.  Calling [Emmy].

10:30 PM: Left   [Jack]  the list of models who will be attending this weekend’s foot party.

11:15 PM: Made Misc. revisions throughout the   Tom’s Diary   blog.

11:40 PM: Posted the list of added or modified posts I did today, to the   Tom’s Diary   blog.

12:30 AM Listened to   Today’s Repeater Song   numerous times.

01:45 AM: Okay, I’m off to bed.  That nap I took earlier has completely run out.  So good night to all, and I’ll be back out here in less than ten hours.  Take care.

12:30 AM: Well, I just spent the past hour listening to today’s repeater song, which is Marie Digby’s adult contemporary version of the smash hit from 2007,  Umbrella.  Made the most popular by pop star Rihanna, this song is just one of perhaps thousands, since the rock and roll era began, where someone attempts to assure a beloved of her undying devotion, dedication, and eternal love.  But though its message is common, I enjoyed this light-hearted expression of a very profound idea.  In this song, the person tries to convince her lover of her love by offering the opportunity to stand underneath her umbrella, any time the driving rains of discontent, sadness, loss, disagreement, or any other disruptive influence darkens their happy and succcessful world together.  In short: She’ll stick around no matter how tough times become.

They played around thirty seconds of Digby’s version (my favorite) on The Young and the Restless sometime in early 2007 ([Emmy], correct me if I’m wrong), just one time so far as I know, and it was only used as very quiet background music, in just one single scene.  But it grabbed me within ten seconds of hearing Digby’s gently soothing singing, and I marveled at how eloquently she had turned Rihanna’s rather rough-sounding single with loud rap and driving drums, into an intimate-sounding, soft invitation to trust openly, in love. 

This version is more acoustic than Rihanna’s; indeed, if not for its faint-sounding Hammond B3-like organ, it would be considered a purely unplugged rendition in my opinon, and to me, as with my other repeater songs, it never grows tiresome to listen to.  So do check it out.   Perhaps you’ll enjoy it as much as I.

12:30 PM: Dispensed morning and lunch-time meds.

12:40 PM: Blood sugar: 241.  Covered with 14 units of log insulin.

12:45 PM: Left message with sister Jojo, to see if, on her way home from work, she would stop at the pharmacy and pick up Mom’s Humulin (NPH) insulin.

12:50 PM: Next significant item we must complete, is for Mom to evaluate her medical insurance options, and then decide if she wishes to continue with the plan she has currently, or switch to another.  We must be very cautions and make sure we understand all the information because we don’t want to inadvertently switch to a plan than does not cover something that she really needs covered.  We just received a big book in the mail from Blue Cross,that explains the plans they’re offering in 2010.  Then, we also just got the Medicare, 2010 book to mull over as well.  It’s a shame they make this open-enrollment procedure such a complicated, not to mention risky process in my opinion.  Hopefully, we’ll get started on this today, once Mom wakes up from her nap.

04:15 PM: Sister Jojo just brought the Humulin (NPH) insulin from the pharmacy.  $44 for one vile, which lasts Mom roughly three weeks.

05:30 PM: Blood sugar: 221.  Covered this and her supper with 14 units of log insulin.

05:35 PM: Dispensed Mom’s supper-time meds.

11:15 PM: Dispensed Mom’s night-time meds.

11:20 She took no blood sugar reading in the late evening here.  However, she did give herself 14 units of the log insulin.
