Log
10:10 AM: Blood sugar: 269. Covered with 20 units of log insulin. She says that the reading is so high because she ate breakfast earlier, but forgot to take insulin.
10:15 AM: Dispensed Mom’s morning meds.
11:30 AM: We’re coming due on two prescriptions for Mom, and both have no refills. So, I’m calling her PCP doctor to request reorders now. We’re also running low on diabetic test strips. Ordering those as well.
12:10 PM: Left voice mail with Mom’s PCP to submit the above prescriptions to our primary pharmacy.
12:25 PM: Ordered four more boxes of Mom’s diabetic test strips. They should arrive in three to six days.
02:30 PM: Dispensed Mom’s after-lunch meds.
02:35 PM: Blood sugar: 145. Covered with 8 units of log insulin.
05:40 PM: Blood sugar: 68. No coverage needed, and she’s eating supper now.
05:45 PM: Dispensed her evening meds.
09:49 PM: Blood sugar: 293. Covered with 18 units of log insulin. She went a little crazy when her blood sugar went low earlier, and ate way too much. I’ve warned her repeatedly about only eating a small amount of sugar to raise her blood values back to normal levels. But, she still way overcompensates, and argues when I point out the error in this. Oh well. It’s her body.
10:00 PM: Dispensed Mom’s bed-time meds.
