Today’s Chores

  • Cat duty.  DONE.
  • Dispensing Mom’s meds.  DONE.
  • Shower.  DONE.
  • Do more pending laundry (My bed sheets and the outer shower curtain today).  DONE.
  • Balance all checking accounts.  DONE.
  • Post the details of the   shopping trip   this past Wednesday night.

10:15 AM: I’m up. 

11:40 AM: Balanced all three checking accounts that I manage; no surprises.

12:45 PM: Clear, blue, sunny skies today.  No wind, and the current temperature on our east porch is 28 degrees.

01:40 PM: Categorized twenty posts in this, the   Tom’s Diary   blog.

04:15 PM: Went   shopping at Sheetz.

05:00 PM: Watched a couple episodes of Pittsburgh Today Live on KDKA TV, with the DVR.

09:00 PM: Just got back from my    second shopping trip   today.  Hey, it’s the holidays.  What can I say?

11:25 PM: Posted the list of today’s added and / or revised documents    here   for this, the   Tom’s Diary   blog. 

11:45 PM: Heading for bed, to rest up for the Christmas eve activities planned for tomorrow.  So good night, and happy holidays.  See you later.

    Shopping Trip: 2009-12-23b

    For the second shopping trip today, we went to Wal Mart, and purchased the following items:

    • Cheerios cereal (4 boxes)
    • Dove bodywash (for [Emmy])  (2 bottles)
    • Yoplait strawberry & banana yogurt (2 containers)
    • Yoplait strawberry yogurt (1 container)
    • Crest toothpaste (2 large tubes)
    • Dental floss picks
    • Blueberries (12 Oz.) (6 boxes)
    • Minute Maid orange juice (1/2 gallon)
    • Organic skim (fat free) milk (1 gallon)
    • Land O Lakes fat free half & half
    • Sargento muenster cheese (2 bags)
    • Sargento sharp provolone cheese (1 7-Oz. bag)
    • Sargento mild cheddar cheese (1 12-Oz. bag)
    • Apple cider (1 gallon)
    • Bananas (1 bunch)
    • Hellman’s mayonaise (1 small jar)

    Shopping Trip: 2009-12-23a

    03:45 PM: Just got back from Sheetz.  Bought the following items for the pantry, as well as for our lunches:

    • Diet, caffeine-free Pepsi (12 liters)
    • Snickers dark chocolate bars (2)
    • Milky Way Midnight dark chocolate bars (2)
    • Reese’s ‘Big Cup’ peanut butter cups (4)
    • Steak salad (1), which had the following ingredients:
      • Steak
      • Romaine lettuce
      • Pickle chips
      • Black olives
      • Mild pepper rings
      • Diced tomatoes
      • Green peppers
      • Slivered onions
      • Diced onions
      • Salt
      • Pepper
      • Colby Jack cheese blend
      • Sliced hard-boiled eggs
      • Ranch dressing
    • 12” Steak sub (1), which contained the following ingredients:
      • Steak
      • Whole wheat roll
      • American cheese
      • Marinara sauce
      • Pepper
      • Salt
      • Shredded lettuce
      • Pickle chips
      • Diced onions
      • Slivered onions
      • Black olives
      • Green peppers
      • Cooked peppers
      • Cooked onions
      • Oregano
      • Mild pepper rings
      • Jalapeno pepper rings
      • Parmesan cheese

    Mom’s Status: 2009-12-23

    Pending Appointments And Issues

    1. Friday, 2010-01-15 @ 1:30 PM: Appointment with her PCP.
    2. Thursday, 2010-02-04 @ 11:30 AM: Appointment with orthopedist for a quarterly checkup on the progress of healing of her charcot foot.
    3. Order more potassium and pain medication.  DONE.  Prescriptions picked up earlier this evening.

     

    10:10 AM: Blood sugar: 151.  She covered with 6 units of log insulin.  Also, I dispensed her morning meds.

    10:35 AM: Verified that Mom’s pending prescriptions (item 3 above) are ready for pickup at our primary pharmacy.  We’ll probably get them tonight.

    12:40 PM: Dispensed Mom’s lunch-time meds. 

    05:00 PM: Dispensed Mom’s supper-time meds.

    09:00 PM: Dispensed Mom’s night-time meds.

    10:10 PM: Blood sugar: 241.  Covered with 16 units of log insulin.
