Log

10:30 AM: Mom reports that she can’t see through one of her eyes.  When we get back from our   shopping trip,  sister Jojo is taking Mom to an emergency appointment at the eye doctor’s.

11:00 AM Blood sugar: 217.  Covered with 10 units of log insulin.

11:05 AM: Gave her the morning dose of 30 units of N insulin.

12:15 PM: Sister Jojo just called to say that Mom has hemorrhaging in her eye, and the blood is blocking her vision.  The doctor was optimistic however, becuase she got to him right away.  He says that a laser treatment today should cauterize the bleeding blood vessels in the back of her eye, and any blood still left in the vitreous humor will clear out in a few days, restoring her vision to normal.  Let’s just hope.

01:00 PM: Mom’s home now, and so, I dispensed her morning meds.

02:00 PM: Blood sugar: 187.  Covered with 11 units of log insulin.

04:00 PM: Dispensed Mom’s lunch-time meds.

05:15 PM: Dispensed Mom’s evening meds.

05:20 PM: Blood sugar: 168.  Covered with 8 units of log insulin.
