09:30 AM: I’m up.

10:00 AM: I weigh myself in the mornings, before I’ve eaten, and after I’ve showered.  The number I read this morning is 182.5 Lbs., the same as yesterday.

11:00 AM: Sister Diane just called to tell me about two transportation providers for this area that she just learned about.  Essentially, they sound like taxi services for the handicapped, because as she described, they come on-demand.  So, with them, I could visit the mall or Lowe’s, or go to camp anytime I wish, and do so much later in the day than can be done with the Blair County Van, whose last run is early in the afternoon.  I think I’ll give these organizations a call presently, and post what I learn about them in this blog.

12:00 AM: Worked the   Hard Drive Upgrades: 2010   project.  I now have three additional copies of my music library; all drives that I received yesterday ahve now been populated.

01:30 PM: Swept off the ramp and sidewalks; a half-inch of snow fell overnight the needed clearing.

02:30 PM: Received the following in the mailbox today:

  • Happy New Year wishes from a local chiropractor, who also took the opportunity to write all about the virtues of the services he provides.  :-)

03:00 PM: Went   shopping on the Internet   just now, to buy some cables and power supplies for the DJ business.

05:00 PM: Completed all remaining work for the   DJ Gig: 2009-12-31   project; I added all requested songs which I did not have at the gig itself.

05:50 PM: Posted the   Perhaps No Camp This Year   piece.

09:00 PM: Debbie came for a few hours, and as we had no shopping to do tonight, she, Mom, and I just hung out and gabbed the whole time, about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness.  :-)    Nice.

10:00 PM: Puttered around the office, listening to past repeater songs and thinking up ways to get this place better organized.

11:05 PM: Talked with  [Emmy].  She misses our warm house here, saying that she’ll be back for a visit sometime in the spring.  She likes the stapler I got her for Christmas, and loves listening to the Pens on this little clock radio I gave her.

12:00 AM: Worked on some posts to get the   Tom’s Love Quest    blog moving again. I’ve neglected that forum since last November, which means that I’ve neglected the quest itself. That’s not good because after all, the quest is my primary mission in life.  So it should have top priority, which clearly, it has not of late.

I’ve no excuses for my inattention, except that I simply lost the resolve to win the quest since summer ended, due to a few intensely painful and disheartening experiences in the weeks prior.  Hopefully though in 2010, I’ll banish any lingering feelings of resignation and dismay that grew up all around me after my last foot party in July, and the online forum debacle in August.  In fact, I have some fresh ideas on how to get back on track, and advance the quest once more.  Now, I just need to write about them, then make them happen, and finally, write about them some more.  With this new year came a renewed sense of hope and inspiration.  So, the postings on the   Tom’s Love Quest   blog should markedly increase in frequency over the next couple of weeks, as I resume my love quest in earnest again

12:05 AM: Posted today’s additions and revisions to this blog,   here.

01:35 AM: Posted the   Giving Up Online Dating   piece to the   Tom’s Love Quest   blog.

02:30 AM: The nightly-deadness of the batteries has returned.  So I’m going to bed now, and will get back at this in eight hours or so.  Have a good night all, and do take care.  See you then.

    Perhaps No Camp This Year

    Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

    Dear [Mentat],

[Emmy]   and I are unsure if we’re attending camp Beacon Lodge this year.  With so much unhealthy food and refined carbs there, and so little good stuff around, it’s all too easy to pack on the pounds, and all too hard to get them off again afterwards.  We’ve found that it can take months after camp ends, to re establish the good eating practices we had before going.  In fact, we’re still recovering from last summer.  But we’ll know for sure if we’re going by the time the camp papers come out in February.

We’ll probably be there; as long as we can devise a way to bring plenty of our own preferred foods with us. It’d be pretty hard not to attend, knowing that so many of our friends are going.  Since that’s the only time we get to see most of them, I expect that we’ll put aside our health concerns, and go.  We’ll see.
