09:00 AM: Dispensed Mom’s morning meds, including the 40 units of N insulin, as well as a double dose (80 MG) of furosemide. The edema hasn’t gotten any worse. But there’s no improvement either. Hopefully, since she’s had extra doses yesterday and today, we’ll start to see her swelling go down soon.
09:05 AM: Blood sugar: 242. Covered with 16 units of log insulin.
10:45 AM: I dispensed 17 units of log insulin, and she’ll take it at her lunch outing with Aunt Joan at around 11:30 AM.
11:00 AM: Mom lost 6 pounds today. Apparently the double dose of the water pill this morning is working. We’ll trim it back to the prescribed dose once she loses a few more pounds.
01:00 PM: Dispensed Mom’s lunch time meds.
05:45 PM: Dispensed Mom’s evening meds.
05:50 PM: Blood sugar: 189. Covered with 12 units of log insulin.
09:55 PM: We all went out to a movie tonight. Mom enjoyed herself and it was good for the two of us to get out of here for a bit.
10:00 PM: Blood sugar: 162. Covered with 10 units of log insulin.
10:05 PM: Dispensed Mom’s night-time meds.
