Log
05:00 AM: Covered her breakfast with 15 units of log insulin.
10:00 AM: Dispensed Mon’s morning meds.
10:05 AM: Blood sugar: 327. Very bad. Covered with 30 units of log insulin.
10:30 AM: You know, I can’t believe my nose! I think I smell bread toasting downstairs…. Yep. Mom’s making MORE toast, even after we got that high sugar reading earlier. I told her about it, saying that we’d never get consistent control of her blood-glucose levels, if she keeps goofing off. Of course, she became indignant, and stubbornly defended her toast, saying that she had to eat something. I suggested that she eat more eggs, meat, fish, green vegetables, and cheese, and less of these refined carbs of which she’s so fond. She countered that we have no eggs, she doesn’t like meat or fish, and she was too hungry to think a whole lot about planning a good meal. Aaaaarrrrrggggggghhhhh!
02:30 PM: Blood sugar: 346. Even worse. Covered with 35 units of log insulin.
02:30 PM: Dispensed Mon’s lunch-time meds.
06:20 PM: Blood sugar: 153. Covered with 10 units of log insulin.
06:25 PM: Dispensed Mon’s evening meds.
