Today’s Activities

  • Shower.  DONE.
  • Schedule appointment for Mom with the retina specialists in Johnstown for sometime in April, 2010.
  • Still fighting my   current cold.

Log

07:00 AM: I’m up. My weight is unchanged from yesterday.  It’s still  177.0 Lbs.

08:05 AM:  Read   my current book   a little more.

08:40 AM: Installed the   ZD Header Tags   plugin on all blogs.  This allows the rewriting of title tags for specific posts without changing their displayed titles. In this way, title tags can be optimized for search engines without changing how they appear on the screen.  User-friendly items like punctuation marks that impact search engine optimization (SEO), can be omitted from the title tag itself, but left in the display form of the title.  This keeps both readers and search engines happy. The plugin also supports customization of keyword and description tags for each post.

10:00 AM: Watched today’s episode of   Pittsburgh Today Live   on KDKA TV.

12:00 PM: Read my   current book.

12:30 PM: Watched KDKA TV’s    Local News at Noon   show.

01:30 PM: Watched today’s episode of   The Young and the Restless.

02:15 PM: Went   shopping   to grab some candy and pop.  We’re celebrating Easter early!  :-)

04:00 PM: Watched today’s episode of   Dr. Phil.

04:45 PM: Upgraded the UltraEdit software on my computer at home to version 16.00.  Also upgraded the UltraCompare software on said computer to version 7.00.

04:50 PM: Removed stop words from the titles of a hundred posts on the   Tom’s Love Quest   blog, per the SEO effort.  There are now 108 posts left to process for this phase of the project for said blog.

07:40 PM: Removed stop words from all 108 remaining posts that had them in their titles, on the   Tom’s Love Quest   blog.  Running the report again to see how many SEO errors are left.

09:30 PM: The SEO report software run identified a few more duplicate title tags, which I’ve fixed, and there’s a couple unexpected behaviors in the   ZD Header Tags   software that I’ll investigate later.  These will have to be resolved in order to eliminate all duplicate titles.  But we got the number down from 89 to 3.  Not bad.  The report however, also noted that most of my documents have no description tags.  So I’ll start writing those, piece meal, though this part of the SEO effort will take several months to complete I estimate, given everything else that’s going on.

10:00 PM: We listened to the Penguins Vs. The Rangers hockey game on the IRIS Internet WebRadio.  It worked very well tonight despite several dropped connections during this past Tuesday’s game.  That trouble may have been caused by a congested Internet.  But the network worked much better this evening.

10:20 PM: Talked with   [Tad].  We’ll meet at the bank tomorrow afternoon, after he finishes work.  Since he does not know precisely what time that will be, he’ll call when he’s leaving, and I’ll head out at that time myself.  That should put us both at Citizens bank at the same time.

10:30 PM: Talked with Mom.  She’s been doing pretty well at regulating her sugars. But further adjustments to her sliding scale are likely necessary to further improve the readings.  She’s been writing down her readings since I’ve been on vacation so that when I return home on Sunday, I can enter them here and look over them to see if any immediate insulin dosing adjustments are indicated.

12:15 AM: Read my   current book  some more.

01:50 AM: Listened to the iPod Touch for the past hour and  a half, and added stations to my favorites. The AOL Radio app allows a maximum of thirty favorites. *groan*  You know, there’s few things more irritating than artificially limited software.  I mean, with 64 GB on this iPod, I’d think you’d be able to store thousands of favorites if you wanted to.  That’s about as restrictive as Verizon denying me the right to put my own music on my cell phone as ring tones.  Gripe over now.  :-)

02:00 AM: To bed I go now.  Take care, and keep reading.  More to come later.  Good night.
