Log

06:30 AM: I’m up.

06:32 AM: Weight’s up another pound from yesterday.  It’s now 176.5 Lbs.  See   here   for a summary of the progress on this goal so far in 2010.

07:10 AM: Posted the   Bandwidth Usage: 2010-04   piece.

07:15 AM: Revised and added to the   No More Foot Parties For A While   post on the   Tom’s Love Quest   blog.

07:20 AM: Finished the   Grapes of Wrath   book overnight.

07:40 AM: Invited several people from Altoona and Pittsburgh to be friends on Facebook.  My friend count is now 68.

08:40 AM: Posted the       piece.

09:05 AM: Now that I’ve finished reading   The Grapes of Wrath,   I’m returning to the      book.

02:55 PM: Created audio journal episode:  AJE-2010-05-03-13-59.

03:00 PM: Just got off of the phone with my philosopher / doctor friend for a hour.  Another enlightening conversation, though we probably won’t talk again until this fall.

03:30 PM: Nephew Garrett brought back my spool of CAT 5 Ethenet cable.  It’s good to have it back; it’s been a while.

05:00 PM: Watched the 2010-05-02 episode of   NBC’s Nightly News   and today’s episode of   The Young and the Restless   on the DVR.

09:00 PM: Watched today’s episodes of   Dr. Phil   and   NBC’s Nightly News.  Normally, I would not watch the Dr. Phil Family, which they had on today.  But one of them was trying to dodge a lie detector test and I wanted to see how that all turned out.  He avoided taking the test with all sorts of excuses.  But in the end, his very avoidance convinced most folks that he was guilty of abusing his daughter.

10:40 PM: Just got off the phone with [Emmy], and I’m wondering which book I’ll read tonight now that I’ve finished   The Grapes Of Wrath.  The   Happiness Now   book requires taking notes, because it’s somewhat technical and very dense.  Stories, rather than self-help, work best for me in bed, cause I don’t have to worry so much about missing important details.  I just let the story flow while drifting off to sleep.  Then, the next day, I figure out where I lost consciousness, and resume listening from that point.

10:45 PM: I revised lots of posts on this blog throughout today, adding properly formatted title tags and signature links.

11:35 PM: Posted the piece called:   A Troll.

11:40 PM: Bed.  Good night, and I’ll post again tomorrow.  Take care.

A Troll

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

And so the story goes about a little boy at home alone, when there comes a knock at the door. He opens it to find a small man standing way shorter than him. Mistaking this miniature sales person for a troll, the boy forces him into a closet, locks the door, and then frantically calls his working mother. Can you imagine what her boss must have thought when she asked to be excused because her child had caught a troll? How about what the imprisoned small adult thought? Well anyway, the mother hurried home and spent ten minutes profusely apologizing to the fellow, and perhaps an hour explaining to her son that the person was not a troll. A troll. A TROLL! :-) LOL My sister shared this little nugget the other day and I found it hilarious.

Bandwidth Usage: 2010-04

Well, we broke the 5 GB monthly bandwidth barrier for the first time!

Used 5772.52  MB for the April, 2009 cycle (2009-04-04 through 2009-05-03). That’s up from 3686.20 MB last month, by 2086.32 MB.  This is a new record high, beating the old high established just last month.  Looking good.

We’ve now way surpassed the  5000 MB target for a single month.  So, the new monthly bandwidth usage goal is 7500 MB, which I’m striving to reach within the next few months.  Stay tuned.
