07:30 AM: I’m up.

09:30 AM: Posted the   Avoid Distracting Compassion   piece to the   Tom’s Love Quest   blog.

10:15 AM: Added links to the above piece to related posts in that blog as well.

03:00 PM: iPodded for an hour.  The latest version of the AOL Radio app appears to be more stable — fewer audio stoppages; although I’ve not taken the iPod Touch to the swings at the pavilion yet.  That will be the true test.  But initial indications are that the app has indeed improved in this iteration.

04:20 PM: Watched today’s episode of    The Young and the Restless   on the DVR.  The notion that Adam is still alive and that he might have killed Richard Hightower is gaining more traction, as Patty reveals that there were two Adams.  Victor stormed in on half-dressed Billy and Vicki, and Baldwin discovers that marriages in Jamaica are not legal after 8:00 PM; meaning that Vicki is not legally an Abbott.  But the newlyweds are getting more comfortable with being married to each other nonetheless.  Abby loses her bid to gain control of her trust fund for her reality television show venture, and she received a rightful dressing down from the judge.

05:45 PM: Watched the   PI Moms   (today’s) episode of   Dr. Phil   on the DVR.

07:55 PM: Watched today’s episode of   NBC’s Nightly News   and  the 2010-05-23 episode of   CBS’s 60 Minutes   on the DVR.

08:00 PM: Now, I’m going to take this iPod Touch to the pavilion and see if the new version of the AOL Radio app performs any better than the last one.

09:10 PM: Well, version 1.2.6.1 of the AOL Radio app for the iPod Touch seems to be noticeably more stable — fewer drop-outs in fringe WiFi signal areas, and when a drop-out does happen, the system appears to restart play automatically when the signal becomes strong enough again.  I experienced far fewer stoppages while walking around the yard, and did not have to press the play button once to manually restart the streams.  Nice.

10:20 PM: Talked with [Emmy].

11:00 PM: Facebooked periodically throughout the evening.  I now have 246 friends.

12:00 AM: Took in an hour of  CNN’s AC 360  news show.  Tonight, as most every night since the oil spill in the gulf began, they’ve focused primarily on this with tonight’s coverage centering around the seemingly inconsequential cleanup effort mounted so far.

12:30 AM: Bed time.  So, good night, take care, and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will inspire me to write.  Pleasant dreams.

10:40 AM: I was inspired to write today about compassion, kindness, and pity, their virtues, and the emotional traps they can create for us when choosing our next lover. The piece   here   was the result.

10:58 AM: Aah, yeah!  Palin’s popularity is a sad testament to America’s declining state of education.  Her lack of reserve along with her abundant arrogance as she shouted that “drill baby, drill” chant. only proves just how uninformed and reckless she is about the dangers of drilling, and so many other issues besides.  She’s dangerous, her rants are dumb, and unfortunately, the people cheering her on at those rallies know no better themselves.  :-(   Just what is this country coming to?
