Log

09:00 AM: I’m up.

12:30 PM: Wrote 2300 words

01:30 PM: Listened to Internet radio on the iPod Touch.  Still quite pleased with the new version of the AOL Radio app.

04:10 PM: Watched today’s episode of   The Young and the Restless   on the DVR.

05:00 Watched today’s episode of   Dr. Phil   on the DVR.  Nap time.

05:40 PM: I’m up again.

06:00 PM: Leaving for the Lions Club meeting.

08:30 PM: Just got home from my final Lions Club meeting.  My membership ends at the end of this month, and I have no plans to renew.  I’m just having so much fun blogging that I have no time for the club anymore.

10:30 PM: Talked with [Emmy].  She reports that she gained no weight whatsoever during her two-week visit here.  So, I guess we’re getting better at selecting wholesome yet non fattening foods to eat.  No, we didn’t visit the Meadows.  :-)

11:30 PM: iPodded.  Today’s repeater song: Rick Astley’s hit  Together Forever  from 1988.

12:15 AM: Facebooked, and re connected with an ex manager from my software engineering job.  She’s enjoying life immensely now, traveling throughout the country in her RV.

01:00 AM: Watched the interview that Larry King conducted with President Obama  on CNN.  Then, I checked out some of the live CNN coverage of the oil spill.  The latest capping operation is well underway, though they cannot tell yet if it’s working.

01:30 AM: Bed time.  Good night.

Bandwidth Usage: 2010-05

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Well, we broke the 6 GB monthly bandwidth barrier for the first time!

Used 6876.53  MB for the May, 2010 cycle (2010-05-04 through 2010-06-03). That’s up from 5772.52 MB last month, by 1104.01 MB.  This is a new record high, beating the old high established just last month.  Looking good.

We’ve now way surpassed the  6000 MB target for a single month, though we’re still shooting for the monthly bandwidth usage goal of 7500 MB, which I’m striving to reach within the next couple months.  Stay tuned.

Facebook Tid Bits: 2010-06-03

08:57 AM: You’re pining for Friday already? This was a short work week too.

10:39 AM: Yep. I know days like that. :-) In fact, I’ll be doing laundry this weekend.

11:10 PM:  Oh, I’m great, Barb! Things are very different now though. No more large-scale software development. Instead, I write full time, DJ now and then, and care for my Mom and her property the rest of my waking hours.

I’m so glad to hear from you. Always wanted to thank you for supporting my move to Philadelphia all those years ago, for that … See Moretransition really got me moving in the RIGHT direction. But now that you’re not my boss anymore, I must admit that I’ve always wondered whether you pushed to help me get to Philly so much because you really wanted to help me, or you just wanted to get me out of your hair. *smile*

So, what have you been up to? I see that you’re no longer in Ohio either. I hope you are well, and that you stop by any time.

Take care.
Tom

11:29 PM: Thanks for [the compliment], Barb. You were a great manager by the way. My problem was that I just didn’t like being managed — by ANY one. :-) Then, by the time 2003 came around, I realized that this would never change. So I decided to get out on my own. There’s a lot less money out here at present. But I’m a hundred times happier, and that’s worth so much more than a fat paycheck. I have no regrets about leaving.

You’re RVing? Wow! That sounds like an awesome lifestyle. Enjoy yourself, because you deserve it. I hope you get some great pictures, and that you have a very long and healthy retirement; whenever that is, you decide to retire.

12:00 AM:  Tom Hesley   attended his last Lions Club meeting, as he must now devote more time to writing. He wrote 2500 words, browsed around the Internet radio spectrum, laundered three loads, listened to Rick Astley’s hit song: Together Forever a total of eight times (it’s a great repeater song), followed the oil spill coverage on CNN, and reconnected with a former boss (so nice) here on FB. Now, he’s out of words. So he’s going to bed. He says good night to all, and that he’s looking forward to returning here tomorrow.
