10:05 AM: I’m up.  Damp, dreary, and dull day so far.  All of the sky is dark gray.  I’m so glad I got the bulk of the grass cut last evening.

02:50 PM: Wrote an additional 1100 words into the   Last Time With Emeebee   piece on the   Tom’s Love Quest   blog.  Please note that this work is still under construction.  But you’re welcome to take an early peak if you so desire.

02:50 PM: It’s raining again.  Rain rain rain.

07:00 PM: iPodded on and off throughout the day.  Today’s Repeater Song: Jon Fred and his Playboy Band’s smash hit: Judy in Disguise With Glasses; one of my favorites pop songs from the late 1960s.  I’m still not sure though, after all these decades what it actually means.  :-)

08:00 PM: Watched today’s episodes of   The Young and the Restless   and   NBC’s Nightly News   on the DVR.

09:00 PM: Headed to nephew Trey’s graduation party.  Back later.

12:35 AM: I’m home again.  Though rain had fallen for much of the past day, it let up for Trey’s gathering, and the party turned out very nicely.  But I’m beat.  So I’ll probably call [Emmy] to say good night, then I’m off to bed.  So good night, and I’ll see you again tomorrow.

10:51 AM: I read my work into a digital recorder, then play it back. The actual reading finds most problems. But the playback finds surprisingly many too. Then, I revise, Revise, REVISE! That’s the nice thing about electronic publishing; you can always RE publish if you must.

11:55 AM: Actually, for me, the revising is NEVER done. But at some point you have to just go with what you’ve got and hope for the best. Otherwise, you’d never publish anything. :-)

12:23 PM:   Another thing: Make sure you have LOTS of good light while penning, and a good deal of open table space as well. In my studio here, I have 640 watts of dimmable 6500K fluorescent light (16 four-foot bulbs). These provide illumination similar to what you get when writing under a clear blue sky. The quantity as well as the quality of my work definitely improved once I installed these along with the counter top that runs on most of the walls in here. Of course with all that lighting, you’ll probably need air conditioning as well. I did. :-)

08:42 PM: iPodded on and off throughout the day while writing 1500 words. Today’s Repeater Song: John Fred and his Playboy Band’s smash hit: Judy in Disguise (With Glasses). Though one of my favorite late 1960s pop songs, its meaning still escapes me; even after all these decades. :-) Hmmmm. Would I have had to use drugs at some point to really get it?

08:58 PM: [A woman posted a proverb-like rule about how we should entertain strangers because some have ended up entertain angels.]  Yea. Look what happened to the prince when he refused, in Beauty and the Beast.

09:07 PM: Oh, and we can’t forget the chair. Every excellent writer must have an excellent chair beneath her. It should swivel, roll, recline, and provide adequate lumbar support. Plus, I’d recommend one with soft arm rests and adjustable height. Aside from her computer, a writer’s chair would tend to be the most expensive single writing aid in the studio. IMHO.

11:30 PM: Ah, yes. Another good song, though I preferred Elton John’s version to the Beatles’.
