08:20 AM: I’m out of bed.  The skies look gray and dark this morning; as though it’s going to rain at least for the first half ot today.

02:30 PM: Added 1600 words to the   The Final Close Encounter With Emeebee   piece on the   Tom’s Love Quest   blog.  Note that this post is a new version of the   Last Time In Bed With Emeebee  piece.  I moved most of the content to the former from the latter, in order to improve visibility to search engines; it had not been indexed in weeks but after the move, the currently dated version  has been.  It appears that for faster indexing of my posts, I should give them the current date, even when I’m writing about a time way in the past.  Not sure yet how I’ll work this seamlessly into the chronological arrangement of the blogs.  But I have some ideas; I could put posts both at the current date, and at the date the story occurred, and then, put links in each, to the other.

03:40 PM: Did the same thing for the   Learning Why Vacuum Tubes Glow Blue   in the   Tom’s Diary   blog.  Again, indexing followed immediately.   This post supersedes the   Why Vacuum Tubes Glow Blue   piece, which is now essentially just a place holder that contains a brief explanation and link to the newer version post.  There may be other older but significant posts that have not been included in search engine indexes.  I’ll do likewise for them as I discover them.

05:30 PM: Watched last night’s episode of   NBC’s Nightly News   and today’s episode of   NBC’s Meet The Press   news shows   on the DVR.  Now, I’m napping.

06:30 PM: I’m up once more.

08:15 PM: Facebooked.  Friend count is now 307, and there has indeed been a modest increase in blog traffic since I began advertising some of my posts over there.  As the size of my network grows, I hope the blog bandwidth will rise as well.

09:45 PM: Watched today’s episodes of   NBC”s Nightly News   and   CBS’s Face The Nation   news shows on the DVR.

01:10 AM: Fiddled with more posting options to the blogs.  Yes, I must post pieces with the current date and time stamp to get them quickly indexed.  Search engines after all, like fresh content.

11:00 PM: Spoke with [Emmy].  She made it back to Lancaster from New York.  We hadn’t talked all weekend because cell reception at her mom’s cabin was so lousy.  Actually, it’s not much better where she is now.  But she’ll be heading home on Monday.  So I’m sure we’ll catch up that night.  Looking forward to it.

11:30 PM: Hmmm.  So I’m sitting here at my desk, happily typing away, when the unmistakable odor of cat dung assaults my nose and destroys my concentration.  So, a trifle frustrated, I peer around the floor under the keyboard and see nothing, then check behind the monitor, where our male cat often sleeps because it’s so warm back there; still no crap-ola to be found.  Finally, I instinctively checked my shoes.  With cats around, one learns to look there early on in the search for unpleasant smells.  Sure enough, on the right sole, there it was, in a mushed patch on the bottom.  Apparently, I stepped in some in the basement earlier today while cleaning up.  Why don’t they more consistently use their litter box?!?!?  Anyway, I checked the carpets up here to make sure I hadn’t tracked any in either the office or the bedroom.  Good thing I didn’t.  Then, I marched the soiled shoes to the bathtub and rinsed them in hot water.  That only removed about half of the mess.  So I suppose I’ll have to wear them outside tomorrow and slide them around in the gravel out back.  When all else fails, shuffling around in 1B stone always gets it off.  Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!

01:12 AM: I’m off to bed once again.  So good night, take care, and sweet dreams.  I’ll catch you again when reality comes back to us in the morning.
