Today’s Activities

  • Shower.  DONE.
  • Cat duty.  DONE.

Log

07:00 AM: I’m up.

07:30 AM: Facebooked a while this morning.  Friend count is now 199.

08:50 AM: Called [Emmy] to say good morning.  She was already up, getting ready to watch her   Pittsburgh Today Live   show.

09:25 AM:  Added and populated the   Heightism   category to the    Tom’s Love Quest   blog.  This contains posts that detail my height preferences of women, the women I’ve rejected for being too short,  and the numerous rejections I’ve received because those women have height preferences in men as well; they want taller men.

12:40 PM: Put the hoses away from the pavilion cleaning effort two days ago, carried the air compressor back down to the basement from the back porch.  I brought it up back in March so that in case water came into the cellar during that storm on 2010-03-13, it wouldn’t get flooded.  I already had that happen to my big compressor.

12:50 PM: Posted the   Gulf Oil Spill Thoughts: 2010-06-23   piece to the   Tom’s Views   blog.

02:00 PM: Watched today’s episode of   The Young and the Restless   on the DVR.  Cane dismissed his suit after Lilly burst into the courtroom and said that she did not want Mac’s amniotic fluid to treat her cancer.  Lauren and Jill are going to have their DNAs compared to see if they are in fact half-sisters.  Tucker attempts to lure Ashley away from Neil but got nowhere; so far.  Mac now thinks she was wrong to withhold the amniotic fluid; she now wants to save Lilly’s life.

02:00 PM: Tried posting to Facebook from my cell phone.  It worked!

03:15 PM: Posted the   Tom’s Love Quest –> Therapy Session: 2009-02-21   piece.

09:30 PM: Just finished putting groceries and supplies away, bought on    tonight’s shopping trip.

11:00 PM: Talked with [Emmy] about the gulf oil spill, The Young and the Restless, her upcoming visit here next week, and other tidbits.

11:55 PM: Watched tonight’s episode of   NBC’s Nightly News   on the DVR; mostly about the gulf oil spill and the resignation of general Stanley Mcchrystal.

12:45 AM: Off to bed now.  So enjoy your slumber, and I’ll jot more lines here tomorrow.  Take care.

Facebook Tid Bits: 2010-06-23

01:20 PM: Since you’re not using your furnace during the summer presumably, and assuming that you have a gas furnace, your carbon monoxide levels would tend to be low anyhow. You’d get a far better idea about the contamination if you ran the test during the cooler months of the year.

06:13 PM: Have you tried adjusting the temperature in your warming refrigerator? Some refrigerators have a conduit between the refrigerator part and freezer part whose size you can adjust. Try making this opening smaller. Otherwise, a technician may be able to add more refrigerant for you if the compressor has not gone bad. But this will cost you some bucks to have the person come, and there’s no guarantee that this will fix the trouble. However twelve years is not that old for a refrigerator. So it’s hard to fathom that the compressor would be bad already.

07:00 PM:  I’m upgrading my iPod Touch now. I love software releases. They’re like getting a while new unit without having to buy a thing. :-)

08:15 PM: Testing a Facebook post from my cell phone.

09:05 PM: Just finished upgrading my iPod Touch to iOS 4.0.  Haven’t tried it out yet.  But I’m curious if the new platform will make the Internet radio apps more stable.  In the last version, these didn’t do very well in WiFi fringe areas — they’d stop playing and apparently not attempt to restart when the signal got good again.  I’ll have to take a walk to the pavilion and see if that behavior has improved any.  Plus, I’m tickled at the new multi-tasking support.  That will make it much more like a PC.  :-)   Yes!

09:15 PM: Yippe. The cell phone test worked!

10:13 PM: A freezer should be 0 degrees F. Sounds like yours is warmer than that; though it is still below freezing.  This is likely why your ice cream is soft though you still can make ice in it.
