08:00 AM: I’m up.
11:15 AM: Worked the Lawn Maintenance: 2010 project. Ran the lawn tractor over all accessible areas.
01:35 PM Worked the Lawn Maintenance: 2010 project some more. Completed all weed whacking for this round. It’s a hot one today. Normally, I’d have deferred cutting the grass in heat and humidity this extreme. But I have put this off for more than ten days already, as days in the low eighties (my favorite lawn work temperatures) have been few and far between lately. This has been quite a warm summer the past month or so. But the up side of that is that the grass hasn’t grown very fast. So it didn’t need cut much.
03:15 PM: Watched today’s episode of The Young and the Restless on the DVR, and skipped today’s rerun episode of Dr. Phil.
04:15 PM: Heading for the train to Pittsburgh. I’ll stay with [Emmy] as long as Mom is in the hospital out there. Friends and relatives will house sit here at home until I get back.
04:45 PM: Talked to a neighbor lady who left me voice mail earlier, wondering how Mom was doing. So I brought her up to date, and made sure she has the address of this blog so she can stay abreast of Mom’s condition.
05:30 PM: I’m on the westbound train now. It left Altoona twenty minutes late or so and we’re about to round the horseshoe curve now.
08:30 PM: I’m in downtown Pittsburgh now. There weren’t any official cabs at the train station. So I’m walking down to Fifth Ave. to take the 71A Negley bus to [Emmy's].
09:55 PM: I’ve reached [Emmy's].
10:30 PM: Talked to sister Christine, sister JoJo, and the hospital about Mom, and I slugged down a few cold glasses of diet Pepsi and ginger ale.
11:30 PM: Well, we have to get up very early tomorrow morning. So we’re heading to bed now. Have a good night, and I’ll write more tomorrow as new information about Mom develops. Take care.
