04:00 AM: Woke up prematurely and could not get back to sleep. So I flipped on the election returns for an hour or so.
05:30 AM: Heading back to bed. Back later.
08:15 AM: I’m up for good today.
12:05 PM: Out washing machine has been leaking soapy water from the bottom lately. So I think I’ll investigate that today.
12:15 PM: Removed all screws that hold bottom to the metal side panels on the washer before discovering the removable front bottom panel. So, I put all the side panel screws back in to avoid the labor of complete separation of the innards of the machine from its housing. I may be able to see where the leak is just by peering through the front bottom opening with a flashlight.
12:20 PM: Discovered that this major leak is coming from a crack in the drain hose, at the spot where this hose enters the washer. I’ll head to the store this afternoon and ge some parts to repair this.
12:30 PM: Removed bad hose. Will get a new one this afternoon.
01:00 PM: Watching President Obama’s concession speech.
02:00 PM: Obama was definitely injured by the great losses of democratic seats in congress. He hid his pain well. But one could still see it. Hopefully, he’ll be able to govern with the drastically greater number of republicans in the house especially.
02:15 PM: Heading to Surplus City to get some hose, hose clamps, and a piece of pipe with which to repair the washer. Back later.
04:15 PM: I’m back.
05:15 PM: I’ve replaced the damaged section of drain hose, and for the moment, everything seems well — no more leaks. I’ll run a couple loads through and see how the washer does.
05:45 PM: Heading out now on a shopping trip with sister Jojo to Lowe’s to get the elevated commode seat that Mom will need when she returns home. We’ll also visit Mom as well. Back later.
08:00 PM I’m back home again. There’s a Penguins hockey game tonight. So I’ll probably catch that with [Emmy] on the phone.
10:30 PM: Listened to the first two periods of the hockey game. Currently, the Pens are losing by two.
11:20 Watched today’s abbreviated episode of The Young and the Restless on the DVR. The president’s speech preempted the second half of the show.
11:25 PM: I’m rather sleepy and as I must get up early tomorrow anyhow, it’s probably a good idea that I get to bed now. Good night.
