Log

04:40 AM: I’m up temporarily.  Mom requires assistance.

05:00 AM: She’s back in her chair, resting.

05:40 AM: I got caught up in this, my diary blog and think I’ll get back to bed for a couple more hours.  More later.

09:45 AM: I’m up again.  Now, working the    DJ Gig: 2010-12-31   project, and adding more 2010 music to the library.

11:00 AM: Dispensed Mom’s morning meds.  She’s up and about now, buzzing around in here wheelchair.

01:00 PM: Heading to the store for groceries.  We’ll not shop on Friday because that day is Christmas Eve, and we wish to avoid the big crowds that invariably descend on the stores on that day.  So, I’m doing our   grocery buying   today.

02:30 PM: I’m back from the   shopping trip, and all groceries have been put away.

02:45 PM: Dispensed Mom’s lunchtime meds.  Also, one of her close friends, Diana, arrived for a visit.  She said she really liked the newspaper article that showcased our Christmas lights outside, and [Emmy]   and I sat with Mom and Diana for an hour or so.  Nice, Christmasy visit.

04:00 PM: Grilled up some eye steaks for supper along with fried green peppers, onions, and mushrooms.  However,   [Emmy]   didn’t like these meat cuts much.  We’ll have to make sure we stick with the sirloin, t-bone, and New York strip steaks.  I noticed about the eye steaks an unusual inconsistency of flavor.  That is, one bite tasted quite different from another, though they both came from the same cut.  That’s rather strange.  Further, I removed lots of fat; although it was located along the edge of the cut and so was easy to cut out.  Not much fat was embedded in the center of the good part of the steak.  In spite of all this, I enjoyed the flavors, varied though they were.

06:00 PM: Made two blenders full of milk shakes for Mom,   [Emmy],   and myself.  Yum!

06:30 PM: I helped Mom organize items in her bedroom, and her friend Debbie arrived to complete the jobe a bit later.  Mom’s bedroom is very well-organized and not cluttered now.

09:45 PM: Listened to the Penguins hockey game.  They won.

10:30 PM: Watched today’s episode of   The Young and the Restless   on the DVR.

10:35 PM: Skipped yesterday’s and today’s rerun episodes of   Dr. Phil.

11:45 PM: Mom’s in bed now and I’ve dispensed her night time meds.  I’ve finished up the file conversions for the music from July of this year per the   DJ Gig: 2010-12-31   project, and will do August tomorrow.  Mom’s room was a bit warm; probably because it’s warmer tonight outside than it’s been for a week or so.  So I had to steal down to the basement to turn the heaters back a bit.

11:50 PM: Bed time for all.  More tomorrow.  Good night.
