Log
07:00 AM: I’m up.
08:30 AM: 6 degrees outside this morning. Mostly clear so far though. But there’s a big storm coming in the next couple days. So it appears that, with these recurring cold temps and the snow and ice, that global warming has taken a vacation the past couple of years.
09:15 AM: Scheduled my van trip for later this week to visit Mom at the nursing home.
09:40 AM: Cancelled Mom’s Blair Senior Services van to her neurology appointment this week. We must use Med Van, that provides more timely arrivals for wheelchair patients.
09:45 AM: Med Van trip has been scheduled for Mom to transport her to her neurology appointment this week.
09:55 AM: Ground oregano and olive oil on popcorn last night. Yummy! But that snack left the kitchen smelling like a pizzeria. I don’t mind that really, except that it tempts me to order a pizza for supper tonight, which I should NOT do. Hmmmmmm. To be gluttonous or not to be.
10:55 AM: Made sure that Mom’s financial planner received my message that I lef her last week to withdraw the 10% anual amount that Mom dones every year. They did receive the message and this transaction is in process now.
02:00 PM: Watched today’s episode of The Young and the Restless on the DVR.
02:35 PM: I think that any contract written in smaller than 10 point type should be unenforceable. Let’s get rid of the ‘fine print’ once and for all, and ensure that people signing contracts really do understand what they’re signing. If a contract is too long to print big, then it’s too long, period.
02:40 PM: Reading through the documents for my new health insurance plan that took effect at the beginning of this month. Guess I’d best understand what it covers, and perhaps more importantly, what it does not.
03:55 PM: In the first large envelope of papers and booklets from my new health insurance company, I found my medical insurance cards, a form for listing any allergies to medications (I have none so far), and pamphlets discussing various health education programs offered by the company. I’ll get into a second envelope I received from them over the holidays later this week.
05:00 PM: Nap time. Back later.
05:45 PM: I’m awake again.
06:30 PM: Watched today’s episode of Dr. Phil on the DVR.
07:50 PM: Watched tonight’s episodes of NBC’s Nightly News and The CBS Evening News news shows on the DVR.
11:00 PM: Watched tonight’s rerun episode of Hawaii Five-0 on Mom’s HD TV with [Emmy] on the phone.
11:35 PM: [Emmy] and I watched KDKA TV’s Local News, and it appears that, at least for the present, Kristine Sorensen has replaced Patrice King Brown as the female anchor of the 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM: news casts. [Emmy] hates this however, as this likely means that Sorensen will no longer regularly host the Pittsburgh Today Live show in the morning. But, this is a step up for Sorensen, as now, she’s an anchor in prime time news.
11:40 PM: Bed time. More tomorrow. Good night, and do take care.
