08:45 AM: I’m now up.

10:15 AM: Pearl called to invite   [Emmy]   and me up for an afternoon later this week.  We’ve been trying to coordinate this visit for a few months now.  But with Pearl contracting a nasty cold, Mom’s health emergencies, and [Emmy] not being here much of the time, we were unable to arrange a date for this until now.  But it was well worth the effort, as it’s always nice to get away from the home office here for a little while here and there, and share ideas and fellowship with good friends, as Pearl is to us.

11:35 AM: Added the following keywords where appropriate to posts in the   Tom’s Love Quest   blog: beautiful body, beautiful legs, foot fetish, foot fettish, foot massage, foot worship, footfetish, footfettish, gorgeous body, gorgeous feet, gorgeous legs, pretty feet, pretty legs, sexy body, sexy feet, sexy legs.

11:50 AM: Someone in one of the DIY (Do It Yourself) groups I follow was having problems with strong gas odors coming from their gas fireplace.  So I told them of my own troubles with this when I first got my basement gas heaters as follows: I experienced a similar problem with my gas heaters, and found that they weren’t quite level when I installed them.  The level I used (an unusual one) wanted the bubble to be at the far end of the yellow tube of liquid and NOT in the center for levelness.  But I didn’t realize this during installation.  So the result was that both heaters were several degrees off of level, and both smelled to high heaven when activated.  Careful re-leveling seemed to solve the odor issue however.  So, the lesson here is to make sure gas heaters are truly level so that the most clean and complete burning of the gas is achieved.

12:30 PM: Heated up some beef grain soup and cooked a couple grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.

01:00 PM: Leaving now for Pearl’s house to socialize for the afternoon.  Back later.

04:00 PM: We’re back home.  What a pleasant visit.  Pearl served us homemade pumpkin pie and milk for a snack.  Delicious!

04:05 PM: Boy, with all the hubbub lately about diet soda possibly being linked to heart disease, I’m glad I resolved to give it up in 2011.  So far, I’ve not had it at all this year, and yesterday’s reports make staying away from it a whole lot easier.  I replaced diet soda with low-sodium V8 vegetable juice. Not sweet. But it works. :-)   It’s not clear at this point why this link exists.  But ironically, increased risks of heart disease as well as stroke were noted only in those who drink diet pop, and not regular pop.

04:15 PM: Nap time.  Back later.

05:45 PM: I’m up again.

07:30 PM: Yep, I have perhaps 20 different flavors of herbal tea that I sweeten with stevia; two or three big mugs of it per day.  I had begun phasing out all consumption of diet soda some years ago, and tea was one of my soda substitutes along with the V8.

10:15 PM: Listened to the Penguins game with [Emmy]   tonight.  The Pens beat the Kings, 2 to 1.

11:00 PM: Watched today’s episode of   The Young and the Restlesss   on the DVR.

11:35 PM: Watched the late local news.  We’re heading to bed.  Thermometer reads 4 degrees outside.  Brrrr!  Thank goodness it’s much warmer (67 degrees) in here.  Good night.
